Simeon Warner from Cornell University Library presented on ORCID integration with arXiv. Some key points: - arXiv began using local author IDs in 2009 and added ORCID ID integration in 2015 which allows linking arXiv accounts to ORCID IDs without re-entering information. - Over 8,000 ORCID IDs have been added through this process at a rate of around 1,000 per month, and most users no longer bother with local IDs. - Future plans include making the ORCID ID association more prominent during submission and potentially tying ORCID ID association to migration to identity-based author search.
