iGen Lost Interest In
Parties
Generation Z has lost its interest in partying
and going out. They don’t socialize in person
anymore, be it to just hang out or to party.
The iGen just doesn’t feel the need to rage
and be wild to kill boredom. They have
Netflix, the internet and tons of other
sources of entertainment, making parties as
a way to kill time and boredom uncalled-for.
Their party happens constantly: on
Snapchat. The need to spend time with their
peers face-to-face is declining as a result - to
be exact: iGen spends four hours less a week
socializing with friends and three hours less a
week partying compared to teens from the
late 1980s.

Millennials Seek
Meaning In Brands
Among the brands Millennials rank highest
are Twitter, Starbucks, Spotify, Kickstarter,
Always and Honest Company. What these
brands have in common is meaning. A clear
sense of purpose to improve the world in
some way, whether it’s bettering the
environment or challenging gender
stereotypes. Older brands such as P&G may
have many initiatives around social good, but
if they’re not communicating it clearly to this
younger cohort, they face decline.

Disney’s Magic AR
Experience
Disney’s bench stands in-front of a large
display which has an RGB camera and depth
sensor integrated. People can sit on the
bench and see their surroundings in
augmented reality (AR) on the screen.
Characters are incorporated into the scene,
and can be made to “react” to people sitting
on the bench.
Technology is fitted beneath the bench to
generate haptic feedback, so people can
actually feel sensations such as the
augmented characters jumping onto the
bench, or “feel” rain hitting the bench etc.
