http://www.Vinsoy.com If you haven’t stopped by the Siesta Key Market held in the heart of the Village on Sunday morning, then go check it out- at least to smell one of Kim Johnson’s delicious handmade candles! Every time I come by her booth I am greeted by a variety of mouth watering scents. If I were blind, I might actually bite into one of her candles. I currently like to burn my “cup of coffee” which is actually a coffee-scented candle in my living room. All my friends rave about how nice my home smells (and automatically assume it comes from the kitchen). The last one I bought was “apple pie”. I thought it would be the ideal gift for a visiting friend: rather small, beachy (reminiscent of coastal decor with a shell and beads on it), and non synthetic (she uses essential oils to fragance). Kim’s candles are the perfect Siesta Key souvenir ! Her booth always looks beautiful with her very decorative candles but she also has a lot of jewelry on display too. Most of her pieces reflect her love for the beach and her sunny personality and are mostly made for the island lifestyle. In her compositions she uses shells, colorful beads and charms on strings of leather or hemp. I, myself, already own 2 necklaces, a bracelet, and soon I will buy an anklet from her… Vinsoy candles are currently available on Kim’s website: http://www.vinsoycandles.com You can also find some of her products at the Compound which is a surf shop located on Clark Road in Sarasota.
