National Flag     Turkish flag consists of a white crescent and star on a red background. Red is a prominent color in Turkish history, especially associated with the bloody battles of the Turkish War of Independence. The crescent and star are generally regarded as Islamic symbols today.

Formation Of republic Turkey Under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Pasha, during the Battle of Gallipoli, the Turkish War of Independence was waged with the aim to unified the nation. On November 1, 1922, the newly founded parliament formally abolished the Sultanate, thus ending 623 years of Ottoman rule.  The republic was officially proclaimed on October 29, 1923, in the new capital of Ankara.

The territory of Turkey is subdivided into 81 provinces for administrative purposes. The provinces are organized into 7 region . Each province is divided into districts, for a total of 923 districts. Public debt is 37.1% of GDP Revenues : $164.6 billion (2008 est.) Expenses : $ 176.3 billion (2008 est.)
National culture of Turkey More important of personal and family relation Strong uncertainty avoidance Collectivism & individualism present in the culture. Equal level of values for males and females. Culture is mixture of western and eastern. More responsive to guests Hospitality is integral part of Turkish culture. Not very social but are good at relationships with people. First time visitors to a home bring a small gift like fruit or flowers.
Guests should avoid asking their hosts personal questions. High achievement orientation. They are detail conscious but not personal
