1. The following are some of the more common tests performed during pregnancy. Please
read it carefully.
 Are you around 11 — 13 weeks pregnant ?
 If you are, meet your obstetrician to discuss about FTS.
 FTS is First Trimester Screening
 It's a combination of an Ultra sonogram and blood test.
 It costs around Rs.3,000.
 This is a screening test to look for certain chromosomal abnormalities in the fetus.
 Also it's a predictor of PIH (Pregnancy Induced Hypertension) and IUGR ( Intra uter
ne Growth Retardation).
 If the screening is negative, relax and enjoy your pregnancy journey.
 If screening is positive, you have to go for confirmatory tests.
 If confirmatory test shows chromosomally abnormal fetus, you can terminate the
pregnancy to avoid high risks.
