• Will have detailed and well written lesson
plans
• Will not generically spill content information
to the students, but meticulously
disseminate this information to the students
• Will think of clever and creative ways to
present information to the students
• Relate previous content to new content to
ensure a smooth understanding of the
content
• Be organized in the presentation of content
• Interact with students in the classroom to
ensure that understanding and learning is
taking place
• Intrinsic Motivation
• Be passionate about student success and
the content taught

The Effective Teacher with good classroom
management skills will do the following:
• Have a structured plan of how he/she will
spend his/her time in the classroom setting
• Start class on time, and end class on time
• Thoroughly explain the course outline and
syllabus on the first day of class
• Meticulously explain the rules and policies
of the course, as well as the grading scheme
for the course
• Be consistent with the implementation of
the policies of the course and the grading
scheme
• Treat all students fairly
• Post assignments for each class session
• Effectively prepare students for
examinations and assessments

characteristics:
• High level of student involvement
• Students with clear expectations of the
course and the presentation of the content
• Relatively little wasted time, confusion or
disruption
• A professional, pleasant and work oriented
