Warren Edward Buffett is an American business magnate, investor, and philanthropist. Buffett serves as the chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway. He is
considered by some to be one of the most successful investors in the world, and as of August 2017 is the second wealthiest person in the United States, and the
fourth wealthiest in the world, with a total net worth of $86.3 billion.
Born in Omaha, Buffett developed an interest in business and investing in his youth, eventually entering the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in
1947 before transferring and graduating from University of Nebraska–Lincoln at the age of 19. Buffett went on to enroll and graduate from Columbia University
where he learned and eventually molded his investment philosophy around a concept pioneered by Benjamin Graham–value investing. He attended New York
Institute of Finance to specialize his economics background and soon after began various business partnerships, including one with Graham. After meeting
Charlie Munger, Buffett created the Buffett Partnership. His firm would eventually acquire a textile manufacturing firm called Berkshire Hathaway and assume its
name to create a diversified holding company.
Buffett has been the chairman and largest shareholder of Berkshire Hathaway since 1970, and his business exploits have had him referred to as the "Wizard",
"Oracle" or "Sage" of Omaha by global media outlets. He is noted for his adherence to value investing and for his personal frugality despite his immense wealth.
Buffett is a notable philanthropist, having pledged to give away 99 percent[10]
of his fortune to philanthropic causes, primarily via the Bill & Melinda Gates
Foundation. In 2009, with Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg, Warren founded The Giving Pledge, whereby billionaires pledge to give away at least half of their
fortunes.

Larry Page, American computer scientist and entrepreneur, who, with Sergey Brin, created the online search engine Google, one of the most successful sites on the
Internet.
Page, whose father was a professor of computer science at Michigan State University, received a computer engineering degree from the University of Michigan (1995)
and entered into the doctorate program at Stanford, where he met Brin. The two were both intrigued with the idea of enhancing the ability to extract meaning from
the mass of data accumulated on the Internet. Working from Page’s dormitory room, they devised a new type of search engine technology that leveraged Web users’
own ranking abilities by tracking each site’s “backing links”—that is, the number of other pages linked to them.
In order to further their search engine, Page and Brin raised about $1 million in outside financing from investors, family, and friends. They called their expanded
search engine Google—a name derived from a misspelling of the word googol (a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros). By September 1998 the
two had founded Google Inc., with Page as chief executive officer (CEO). The next year Google received $25 million of venture capital funding and was processing
500,000 queries per day.
Page stepped down as CEO in 2001 to become president of products. He was replaced as CEO by technology executive Eric Schmidt. However, both he and Brin
remained intimately involved in running Google. By 2004 the search engine was being utilized 200 million times a day. On August 19, 2004, Google Inc. issued its
initial public offering (IPO), which netted Page more than $3.8 billion. In an acquisition reflecting the company’s efforts to expand its services beyond Internet
searches, Google purchased in 2006 the most popular Web site for user-submitted streaming videos, YouTube, for $1.65 billion in stock. In 2011 Page resumed his
duties as Google’s CEO, Schmidt having moved to the position of executive chairman. Google was restructured in August 2015 as a subsidiary of the newly created
holding company Alphabet Inc. Page became CEO of Alphabet.

Jimmie Paschall, Executive Vice President, Head, Enterprise Diversity & Inclusion
Jimmie Paschall carved out a name for herself at Marriott International, where the position of Global Diversity Officer was created for her. But when
she was recruited by Wells Fargo, she saw the opportunity to have an even bigger impact. More than a third of the bank’s 270,000 employees are
from traditionally underrepresented groups and the company is the country’s largest home lender to Blacks, Asians, Latinos and American Indians.
“If you look at what financial institutions can do and the lives being touched by Wells Fargo, there are lots of places where diversity and inclusion can
play a role,” Paschall told DiversityInc. “The impact feels infinite.” One of Paschall’s passions is tapping the power of Wells Fargo’s many resource
groups and diversity councils to achieve company goals. “If we can harness that energy within a strategy, we will have a new level of performance,”
she says.
Prior to joining Wells Fargo, where she also serves on the Executive Leadership Council, Paschall was Global Diversity Officer and Senior Vice
President of External Affairs at Marriott International, where she oversaw the Marriott Foundation for People With Disabilities. She is a former
Executive Vice President of External Affairs at Volunteers of America, a national service organization, and has held leadership posts in human
resources and internal communications with Sodexo and Host Marriott Services Corporation (now HMSHost Corporation).
Paschall grew up in Macon, Ga., and earned her bachelor’s degree from Howard University in 1983. She is a member of the Consortium of Chief
Diversity Officers at Georgetown University.

  • 49. 49 Larry Page, American computer scientist and entrepreneur, who, with Sergey Brin, created the online search engine Google, one of the most successful sites on the Internet. Page, whose father was a professor of computer science at Michigan State University, received a computer engineering degree from the University of Michigan (1995) and entered into the doctorate program at Stanford, where he met Brin. The two were both intrigued with the idea of enhancing the ability to extract meaning from the mass of data accumulated on the Internet. Working from Page’s dormitory room, they devised a new type of search engine technology that leveraged Web users’ own ranking abilities by tracking each site’s “backing links”—that is, the number of other pages linked to them. In order to further their search engine, Page and Brin raised about $1 million in outside financing from investors, family, and friends. They called their expanded search engine Google—a name derived from a misspelling of the word googol (a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros). By September 1998 the two had founded Google Inc., with Page as chief executive officer (CEO). The next year Google received $25 million of venture capital funding and was processing 500,000 queries per day. Page stepped down as CEO in 2001 to become president of products. He was replaced as CEO by technology executive Eric Schmidt. However, both he and Brin remained intimately involved in running Google. By 2004 the search engine was being utilized 200 million times a day. On August 19, 2004, Google Inc. issued its initial public offering (IPO), which netted Page more than $3.8 billion. In an acquisition reflecting the company’s efforts to expand its services beyond Internet searches, Google purchased in 2006 the most popular Web site for user-submitted streaming videos, YouTube, for $1.65 billion in stock. In 2011 Page resumed his duties as Google’s CEO, Schmidt having moved to the position of executive chairman. Google was restructured in August 2015 as a subsidiary of the newly created holding company Alphabet Inc. Page became CEO of Alphabet.
