11. Research Summary
âą What have you learned from your research?
âą What aspects of the research will you include within your on work?
There are a lot of similarities between each posters which I analysed and they are dark and grey
colours which are used to give the zombie, dark feel to the game and what is in the game. As well as
that, there were a lot of interesting magazines with lots of detail and colours which grab the readers
attention and makes the audience want to go grab the magazine as the front cover is vibrant and full
of important information about the games.
I will use the bloody effects on the title to create a horror mood and sense of the game, as well as
that, on the last product the zombies are coming up and trying to grab the main character which I will
also do for my cover as it shows the power of the main character and how he is endangered by the
flesh eating zombies around him.

of this horrific event but do not realise that their friend has actually been bit by a zombie whilst trying to escape
and when they find out there is no where to hide as they run around the maze trying to escape but drop into a hole
where they find out why they are at the maze. They all get a video about their bad deeds which they have
committed and thatâs the reason for them being their and the only way to get out of the maze is to play the horror
game set up where they are being chased by zombies and werewolves in their dreams. The only way to stop it is to fight
back and find out why it is happening to you to get out of this terrible chain of events.

The fainted zombie gives a

your sense to make you want
to find out if the game is also
uneery and spooky.
The background colour
Is splattered and red
which signifies the colour
and resemblance of blood

I will have the fainted

panel fuzzy and
pixalated so it moves
slightly
27. Horror game menu screen improved 2
The head title are red
For the blood and horror
Effect for the gamers.
The background is a dark
Earthy feel to give a
mysterious vibe as it is a
enigma to consumers to
what will happen in the
game and will attract them
to buy it.
The zombie in the
Background represents
what the game is about
and also it is rather fainted
to give an edgy horror style
to it .
The sub-headings are to
give the player the options
of how to start the game
and play.
28. Here I created my menu screen for my zombie
game on pixelart I had fun creating it and
learning different things and cool ways to
enhance the way my video screen looked and
also the way the different parts would
smoothly come together on the video for the
game screen.
I would have wanted the words to have come
up separate at certain points which was very
difficult and I wasnât sure how to do it
separately but for next time I will hopefully
look into this and learn it for next time so that
I can animate to a better standard next time.

30. Here is the cut scene of the game and it is in a
abandoned warehouse . The character is
shooting at the other character and killing
them whilst the background is the windows
and the sunlight which is coming through the
warehouse when the scene is being played.
The play is a bit quick, and I could have
improved in getting the timing and speed of
how quick the scene is being played.
Cut scene of horror game.
31. Cut scene horror game
Here on this cut scene, I have made a trap
which they will come to where they fall into it
and will then enter the horror game which
they will get tortured and shown their bad
deeds and why they are the chosen ones who
are getting mistreated horrifically. They are
the chosen ones because they have been
horrible people and mistreated others their
whole life and are now getting a taste of their
own medicine.
32. Cut scene horror game
Here I have created the scene of where they
all are watching the tape of what they have
done and why they are there due to their
wrongdoings. The scenes they watch are
what is going to happen to them and why
they have been the selected few to be the
ones who get tortured and itâs because of
their past violence and the wrong choices
which they made in life.
33. The soundtrack for my video game will be dark and upbeat. There will be lots of high beats and zombie
Snarls which will give the feeling to the game and help you connect and focus with the game.
Also, I will have a lot of retro synths and also creepy Ostinatos which will be horror and scary for the viewers
And will help you play the game. As well as that, there will be sudden screams for when you die
Which will indicate your loss.
34. The zombies looking down
on you make the reader
feel like they are part of the
poster and are drew into
the game.
The colour scheme of the
words and writing are colourful and
bright so they stand out to the
readers eyes and the
bright colours make the
magazine look more fun
and more people will
but it for this reason.
The pictures at the bottom
give an insight to scenes
and gameplay of what will
happen and also special
Features included in the
game
The colour co-ordination for
the tagline is red and orange
which makes the words standout
and gives a haunted vibe to it
with the red which is
representing blood and the
orange is for Halloween which is
also connected to horror.
The light could be a
representation of the end
and the last bit of light
which you can see
before you die.
Film magazine cover.
35. Logo visual identity for the film
The colours on my game
Will be dark but vibrant as well.
This will connect and compliment
With the story of my game as it
Is dark and haunted. As well as
that, the logo will be old roman
Type of font which will give an old ,
Haunted aroma of the film. As well as that,
There will be a lot of flashing, coloured lights
to give unease and a jumpy feel for
The viewers to grip their attention
In the film.
As well as that, the colours are distinct and has
an horror edge which sets the mood and tone of the
film, for the people watching.
37. Advertising Products
I will have billboard posters to promote the film which will be put up for show on
bus stops. This will be fantastic as a lot of people especially in the UK use public
transport like buses and lots of people waiting at bus stops mean they will see the
advert promotion for the film and it may lead them to want to go watch it.
Also, I will have the promotion of the film in film magazines which is very popular
and a lot of people buy so this will help the film get limelight and credit of
how good it is so people can go watch it as well and have their own perspective
on it.
Pay influencers to promote your film. This will massively help as having a famous
person will attract peoples attention and make them listen and want see what
the film is about.
As well as those points, one of the most important advertising products
for a film is having movie trailers. This can be trailers during ads on YouTube,
trailers during ads on the Television or also having trailers on in Cinemas of other movies whilst another
movie is being shown.
39. On the billboard cover I had the title which was sinister zombies and I
made it more spooky and haunted by creating the spooky and unusual
fonts to make it interesting and it will grab attentions of people walkinbg
past or driving by in streets whilst passing the billboard. The background
was a spacey and dark to help give the settings and feel of a horror game
which will help the billboard be noticed and people will pay attention to
it.
41. Research
âą There are a lot of similarities between each posters which I analysed and they are dark and grey
colours which are used to give the zombie, dark feel to the game and what is in the game. As well
as that, there were a lot of interesting magazines with lots of detail and colours which grab the
readers attention and makes the audience want to go grab the magazine as the front cover is
vibrant and full of important information about the games.
âą I used the bloody effects on the title to create a horror mood and sense of the game, as well as
that, on the last product the zombies are coming up and trying to grab the main character which I
will also do for my cover as it shows the power of the main character and how he is endangered
by the flesh-eating zombies around him. I could have looked at more examples and easier
magazines which were more simplistic and easier to analyse which would have helped me when I
did my own.
42. Planning
âą The strengths for my planning was the billboard which I made for the
advertising of my movie and also the cut scenes of my game and the
game menu screen.
âą The planning helped a lot as I used the cover ideas from past billboard
cover ideas from the games which I researched and ,also the
magazine cover had ideas taken from past ones such as the bottom
pictures on the magazine which created scenes for people in their
minds to visualize what the game would be like.
43. Time Management
âą Yes, I managed to manage my time to an extent well as I completed
the project in the specific time limit. At first however I did all the work
and finished really early which was bad as I went back and checked
through work to see that I did the bare minimal and wouldnât get a
high score at all. I went back to then add more detail and clothes to
characters on my pixel game and made it more interesting and
colourful rather than just plain stick people.
44. Technical Qualities
Similarities
The picture of the zombies are in
1st person and it makes it look as
if they are staring at you and
make you feel apart of the game
which drags you in to wanting to
buy it.
Differences
The colour schemes are dark in
places but also vibrant in my
magazine but in the other poster
however it is old-fashioned colours
and the writing it plain and boring
as it has nom colour and doesnât
stand out to the audience buying
it.
45. Aesthetic Qualities
Similarities
- The colours of both
Magazines are dark and gloomy.
- They both drag you into the
magazines as the front cover
pictures make the zombie look like
they are staring at the reader
wanting them to come buy the
magazine.
Differences
- The magazine on the right is more old-
fashioned and boring.
- Mine is bright, colourful and has better
use of selective images of the game.
46. Aural Qualities
My work was creative as I used other zombie games and took ideas from
Them but i ended up making a lot of my own such as when they are in the
Horror maze they will stay past 12 at midnight and not come to
realise that the zombies and creatures have come alive to try kill and
Haunt them.
47. Audience Appeal
I have appealed to my target audience as I have included
zombies and shooters in the game. As well as that, the
missions are all in different places which give the game a
unique feel as when you play it you donât know where the
mission will take place creating enigmas in the experience.
