 Quaid-e-Azam said:
 Education does not merely mean academic
education and even that of a very poor type. What
we have to do is to mobilize our people and build
up a character of our future generation.
WHAT ISLAM SAYS:
PROBLEMS IN EDUCATION
 1. Education System is based on
Unequal Lines
 The educational system of Pakistan is based on
unequal lines. Medium of education is different in
both, public and private sector. This creates a sort
of disparity among people, dividing them into two
segments.
 2. Regional Disparity
 Regional disparity is also a major cause. The
schools in Baluchistan (The Largest Province Of
Pakistan By Area) are not that much groomed as
that of Punjab (The Largest Province Of Pakistan
By Population). In FATA, the literacy rate is
deplorable constituting 29.5% in males and 3% in
females.
 3. Ratio of Gender Discrimination
 The ratio of gender discrimination is a cause which
is projecting the primary school ratio of boys & girls
which is 10:4 respectively. For the last few years
there has been an increase in the growth of private
schools. That not only harms the quality of
education but creates a gap among haves and has
not.
 4. Lack of Technical Education
 The lack of technical education is a biggest flaw in
the educational policy that has never been focused
before. Therefore, less technical people mean less
 5. Funds
 The allocation of funds for education is very low. It
is only 1.5 to 2.0 percent of the total GDP. It should
be around 7% of the total GDP
 6. Untrained Teachers
 The teachers in government schools are not well
trained. People who do not get job in any other
sector, they try their luck in educational system.
They are not professionally trained teachers so they
are unable to train a nation.
 7. Poverty
 Poverty is also another factor that restricts the
parents to send their children to public or private
schools. So, they prefer to send their children to
madrassas where education is totally free
CAUSES OF ILLITERACY
 Poverty
 Learning disabilities
 Lacks of schools in rural areas
 Poor education system
 Corruption
 Unemployment
 Low budged of education
 Regional disparity
 Ratio of general discrimination
 Wadera system
CAUSES' OF ILLITERACY
 Male dominant society
 Gap between lower and upper class
 Non-seriousness of the government towards
education
EFFECTS OF ILLITERACY
 Illiteracy rates increase drug and alcohol abuse in
society.
 Illiteracy decreases the rate of technological
advancement in society.
 Illiterate people may not vote.
 increased illiteracy rates have the ability to diminish
society.
 Illiteracy links to poor health.
 Illiteracy contributes to high unemployment rates in
a society.
EFFECTS OF ILLITERACY
 Illiteracy leads to generational learning problems.
 Illiteracy rates increase poverty in society.
 Illiteracy increases incarceration rates in society.
SOLUTION
 . Increase number of primary schools in rural areas.
 Betterment in schools’ infrastructure.
 Free and compulsory education
 Encouragement of private sector
 Special emphasis on female education
 Encouragement of intelligent students and diligent
teachers
 Effective promotion of distance education
 Social campaign against illiteracy
SOLUTION
 Budget for education should be increased
 Schools should be provided in every village of
Pakistan
 Available schools should be utilized for education
only
 Education should be free for all up to University.
 Education should be compulsory for all up to 12th
Standard.
 Salaries of teachers should be increased so that
people can join this profession easily.
CONCLUSION:
 Literacy is a strong weapon which can root out the
social issues like dowry , corruption and child labor.
Literate population can contribute manifolds in the
economics and social development of nation. if
Pakistan want to be a developed and powerful
nation then literacy is the key. Then government
