 Some characteristics of this surah ---- Preserving chastity and
enjoin Hijab for women.
 Background of this Surah --- Battle with Banu Mustaliq and
incident of Slender.
 ‫ا‬َ‫ه‬ٰ‫ن‬ ۡ‫ض‬ َ‫ر‬َ‫ف‬ َ‫و‬ ‫ا‬َ‫ه‬ٰ‫ن‬ۡ‫ل‬ َ‫ز‬ۡ‫ن‬َ‫ا‬ ٌ‫ة‬ َ‫ر‬ ۡ‫و‬ُ‫س‬ ----- Revealed by Allah and its injunctions are
obligatory --- to take heed
 Punishment of Adultery ---- Married/ Unmarried = Stoning to
death/ 100 Lashes(Abrogation of Surah Nissa Ayah 15,16)
 Two examples of this punishment from Seerah ---- Are these
punishment natural?
Ruku No 1:
 Reasons of Adultery and their check ---- Reformatory
and prohibitory measures on a large scale --- Surah
Ahzab(Mahrram, Hijab, Adornment) ---- legal
punishment only as a last resort.
 Softness in investigation of crime, not to publicize
crimes, order to repent and if it reach a court then don’t
cover up and publically punished and disgraced.
 Adulterous and Mushrik --- Both heinous crimes, not
fulfilling the rights, degradation of Human race ---
Second injunction about marriage of Adulterous person.
 If punishment is severe, conditions of proving it are also
tough ---- Four witness.
 Qazf -- Punishment of accusing a chastise women -- 80
lashes, if unable to bring four witness
 Chastity of Women is important in Islam( Kabira sins) ---
Qazif’s credibility is gone --- Fisq
 Li’an -- Solution of a very complex situation when
husband/wife are accusing each other of adultery.
 Ayah 5 --- Repentance for all sins even the Major &
greater sins.
 Conditions for repentance --- Sincerity, feeling of
remorse, asking for forgiveness, resolution of not to
do it again, if it effect others try to recompense, charity
and good deeds as expiation
 Incidence of Ifk --- Slender
 Punishment of Qazf for those who participate in accusation.
 Good coming out of evil.
 Taking part in accusations, calumny & gossips -- Liable for
what you earn in propagation of evil
 Character of Abdullah bin Ubayy.
 Event in words of Aisha(RA) --- Her proficiency

Ruku No 2 :
 Do not spread rumors --- Telling something without
investigation --- One of the major sins(Muslim)
 Have good opinion about Muslims --- Avoid bad
suspicions
 Be on the side of one who is accused --- His defense
 Different forms of Indecency and their effects.
 Painful chastisement for those who spread indecency ----
Why?
 Satan’s second attack after Shirk --- Propagate
indecency and immorality --- Facebook, internet,
movies, literature are used to spread barefacedness --
- Illusion that this is an attack on Woman’s freedom,
old fashioned, culture and tradition, necessity is
permission itself.
 An instruction to Abu Bakr(RA) not to stop support of
Mistah bin Uthatha(RA).

Ruku No 3:
 Teaching of forgiveness and pardon -- Attitude of
Ahsan towards those who repay good with evil.
 Why we have to forgive/forbear ? -- So that this
pardon will become Forgiveness for us in
Hereafter.
 Curse of Allah on those who accuse chastise
woman ---- Prestige and honor of women in Islam
Ruku No 3:
 Our hands, tongue and feet will be witness.
 Decent & indecent cannot mix together ---- Satan’s
manoeuver that this country, atmosphere, civilization
& culture is different, we can mix them because of
peer pressure -- Be careful/cautious.
 Forgiveness and a generous provision for those who
remain chastise, decent, pure and uncorrupt.
 Obtain permission when entering other houses ----
Avoid evil and attain purity.
 ۡ‫م‬ِ‫ه‬ ِ‫ار‬َ‫ص‬ۡ‫ب‬َ‫ا‬ ۡ‫ن‬ِ‫م‬ ‫ا‬ ۡ‫ُّو‬‫ض‬‫ـ‬ُ‫غ‬َ‫ي‬ ----- restrain one's gaze and avoid
casting of looks freely. If it is not desirable to see a
thing, one should turn the eyes away and avoid
having a look at it.
Ruku No 4:
 Men first and women next for this order but for
adultery women first and men next ---- nature.
 Allah due to His unlimited knowledge preventing
the very birth of evil, to reform society and root out
the causes responsible for the creation and spread
of evil.
 Gaze leads to sexual desires and then Adultery ---
Order to guard your private parts next.
 Satar for man and women for each other --- Satar for
women and women
 Order for women, not to reveal their adornment ---
includes attractive clothes, ornaments and other
decorations of the head, face, hand, feet, etc.
 There is a world of difference between "displaying
something" and "its becoming displayed of itself.“ The
first implies `intention' and the second 'compulsion' and
a state of helplessness
 Draw their veils over their bosoms ---- Purpose of Hijab to
hide the natural bulginess --- Now we are making our
dresses, hips, abayas with tight fitting ????? ---- We have to
listen and obey even if we are only one in the crowd following
what Allah(SWT) ordered.
 12 Mahrams --- Husband, father, brother, son, step son,
paternal nephew, maternal nephew, father in law, associate
women, slaves, employees who don’t have sexual desires, boys
unaware of woman’s matters.
 Restriction on the walk that ignite sexual desires ---- Evaluate
our tight clothes and walk?
 Don’t expose what is concealed naturally.
 Repentance on your past and avoid mistakes in future ---
Fear of Allah.
 Solution to save society from Indecency -- Arrange
early marriages/Lawful access for natural desires.
 Even if the income is not yet sufficient, one should
marry with full faith in Allah
 Motivation towards emancipation of slaves.
 Safeguard of chastity of slave girls ---- Do not compel
them to prostitution ---- Reason of major Indecency
today.
 Verse of Radiance ---- (1) This universe in niche and Allah
brighten everything with His light --- Things which facilitate
brightening are quality of Oil, brilliance of the crystal and
lights intensity. (2) The chest of a believer is like a niche,
while the heart of the believer placed in the chest is like a
lamp (placed in the niche) ; transparent oil of olive is the light
of guidance which is deposited in the nature of believer and
has the inherent capability to accept the Truth. When outside
guidance Nur comes, both attract and flame up.
Ruku No 5:
 Characteristics necessary for the true perception of Allah's
Absolute Light --- sincere love for Him, stands in awe of Him,
seeks His favors and avoids His wrath; he is not lost in material
pursuits but in spite of his worldly engagements keeps his heart
warm with God's remembrance, gaze constantly on benefits of
Hereafter and fear of accountability.
 Good deeds of Disbelievers and Hypocrites --- Mirage,
darkness in depth of sea
Action Items Ruku 1-5
 Reform of society --- Reform of self and society through the
implementation of Allah’s boundaries
 Event of Ifk ---- Avoid spreading indecency
 Measures for a pure society ---- Don’t follow the Devil’s way
and seek Allah’s refuge from Satan’s incitements.
 Principles of Purity of Society --- Follow the Laws of Haya
(Sight, Adornment)
 Allah is the light of the heavens and Earth --- Protect the
light of guidance by strong connection to the Qur’an.
 Prayer of everything in this universal --- Extoling
His glory --- Specially birds
 Is rain only due to physical natural law ? ----
Advantages and disadvantages
 Allah has created every animal from water.
 Hypocrisy ---- Announcement of Faith on Allah
and His messenger but turning away from
obedience.
Ruku No 6:
 ‫َا‬‫ن‬ۡ‫ع‬َ‫ط‬َ‫ا‬ َ‫و‬ ‫َا‬‫ن‬ۡ‫ع‬ِ‫م‬َ‫س‬ ----- True success
 Intend is to be obedient not swearing of oath to convince
sincerity.
 Promise of vicegerent for those who are obedient ---
establishment of deen
 Ayah 55 – Istakhlaf ---- Be obedient, witness to man
kind --- Allah will firmly establish their religion and He will
replace state of fear with security.
Ruku No 7:
 Importance of privacy ---- Injunction of seeking
permission for Mahram & relative at specific times.
 An exemption for old women in Hijab but even than no
display of adornments.
 Etiquettes of eating and serving food.
 Individual or collective meal.
 Salutation --- Salam --- Announcement of entrance &
departure --- Greetings of peace & blessings.
Ruku No 8:
 Respect and honor of Rasolallah(SAW)
 Calling of the Messenger(SAW) --- Sunnah ---- Not
an ordinary call but good Here and Hereafter both
depends on it.
 Admonition to those who oppose Rasolallah(SAW)’s
orders.
Action Items Ruku 6-9
 Scenes of Faith and Light --- Glorify Allah/Tasbih, act only
according to the methods prescribed by Allah SWT.
 Domination of religion against hypocrites and infidels --- Strive
to dominate religion by witness onto truth.
 Islamic Society Organization & training Etiquette & Instructions
--- Admission to the house, following the orders of the Salam
 Etiquette, Respect for the Prophet - --- Committing to
Collectivity and Collective Responsibilities

  • 6.  Some characteristics of this surah ---- Preserving chastity and enjoin Hijab for women.  Background of this Surah --- Battle with Banu Mustaliq and incident of Slender.  ‫ا‬َ‫ه‬ٰ‫ن‬ ۡ‫ض‬ َ‫ر‬َ‫ف‬ َ‫و‬ ‫ا‬َ‫ه‬ٰ‫ن‬ۡ‫ل‬ َ‫ز‬ۡ‫ن‬َ‫ا‬ ٌ‫ة‬ َ‫ر‬ ۡ‫و‬ُ‫س‬ ----- Revealed by Allah and its injunctions are obligatory --- to take heed  Punishment of Adultery ---- Married/ Unmarried = Stoning to death/ 100 Lashes(Abrogation of Surah Nissa Ayah 15,16)  Two examples of this punishment from Seerah ---- Are these punishment natural? Ruku No 1:
  • 7.  Reasons of Adultery and their check ---- Reformatory and prohibitory measures on a large scale --- Surah Ahzab(Mahrram, Hijab, Adornment) ---- legal punishment only as a last resort.  Softness in investigation of crime, not to publicize crimes, order to repent and if it reach a court then don’t cover up and publically punished and disgraced.  Adulterous and Mushrik --- Both heinous crimes, not fulfilling the rights, degradation of Human race --- Second injunction about marriage of Adulterous person.
  • 8.  If punishment is severe, conditions of proving it are also tough ---- Four witness.  Qazf -- Punishment of accusing a chastise women -- 80 lashes, if unable to bring four witness  Chastity of Women is important in Islam( Kabira sins) --- Qazif’s credibility is gone --- Fisq  Li’an -- Solution of a very complex situation when husband/wife are accusing each other of adultery.
  • 9.  Ayah 5 --- Repentance for all sins even the Major & greater sins.  Conditions for repentance --- Sincerity, feeling of remorse, asking for forgiveness, resolution of not to do it again, if it effect others try to recompense, charity and good deeds as expiation
  • 10.  Incidence of Ifk --- Slender  Punishment of Qazf for those who participate in accusation.  Good coming out of evil.  Taking part in accusations, calumny & gossips -- Liable for what you earn in propagation of evil  Character of Abdullah bin Ubayy.  Event in words of Aisha(RA) --- Her proficiency • GoodEvil Ruku No 2 :
  • 11.  Do not spread rumors --- Telling something without investigation --- One of the major sins(Muslim)  Have good opinion about Muslims --- Avoid bad suspicions  Be on the side of one who is accused --- His defense  Different forms of Indecency and their effects.  Painful chastisement for those who spread indecency ---- Why?

  • 13.  Teaching of forgiveness and pardon -- Attitude of Ahsan towards those who repay good with evil.  Why we have to forgive/forbear ? -- So that this pardon will become Forgiveness for us in Hereafter.  Curse of Allah on those who accuse chastise woman ---- Prestige and honor of women in Islam Ruku No 3:
  • 14.  Our hands, tongue and feet will be witness.  Decent & indecent cannot mix together ---- Satan’s manoeuver that this country, atmosphere, civilization & culture is different, we can mix them because of peer pressure -- Be careful/cautious.  Forgiveness and a generous provision for those who remain chastise, decent, pure and uncorrupt.
  • 15.  Obtain permission when entering other houses ---- Avoid evil and attain purity.  ۡ‫م‬ِ‫ه‬ ِ‫ار‬َ‫ص‬ۡ‫ب‬َ‫ا‬ ۡ‫ن‬ِ‫م‬ ‫ا‬ ۡ‫ُّو‬‫ض‬‫ـ‬ُ‫غ‬َ‫ي‬ ----- restrain one's gaze and avoid casting of looks freely. If it is not desirable to see a thing, one should turn the eyes away and avoid having a look at it. Ruku No 4:
  • 16.  Men first and women next for this order but for adultery women first and men next ---- nature.  Allah due to His unlimited knowledge preventing the very birth of evil, to reform society and root out the causes responsible for the creation and spread of evil.
  • 17.  Gaze leads to sexual desires and then Adultery --- Order to guard your private parts next.  Satar for man and women for each other --- Satar for women and women  Order for women, not to reveal their adornment --- includes attractive clothes, ornaments and other decorations of the head, face, hand, feet, etc.
  • 18.  There is a world of difference between "displaying something" and "its becoming displayed of itself.“ The first implies `intention' and the second 'compulsion' and a state of helplessness  Draw their veils over their bosoms ---- Purpose of Hijab to hide the natural bulginess --- Now we are making our dresses, hips, abayas with tight fitting ????? ---- We have to listen and obey even if we are only one in the crowd following what Allah(SWT) ordered.
  • 19.  12 Mahrams --- Husband, father, brother, son, step son, paternal nephew, maternal nephew, father in law, associate women, slaves, employees who don’t have sexual desires, boys unaware of woman’s matters.  Restriction on the walk that ignite sexual desires ---- Evaluate our tight clothes and walk?  Don’t expose what is concealed naturally.  Repentance on your past and avoid mistakes in future --- Fear of Allah.
  • 20.  Solution to save society from Indecency -- Arrange early marriages/Lawful access for natural desires.  Even if the income is not yet sufficient, one should marry with full faith in Allah  Motivation towards emancipation of slaves.  Safeguard of chastity of slave girls ---- Do not compel them to prostitution ---- Reason of major Indecency today.
  • 21.  Verse of Radiance ---- (1) This universe in niche and Allah brighten everything with His light --- Things which facilitate brightening are quality of Oil, brilliance of the crystal and lights intensity. (2) The chest of a believer is like a niche, while the heart of the believer placed in the chest is like a lamp (placed in the niche) ; transparent oil of olive is the light of guidance which is deposited in the nature of believer and has the inherent capability to accept the Truth. When outside guidance Nur comes, both attract and flame up. Ruku No 5:
  • 22.  Characteristics necessary for the true perception of Allah's Absolute Light --- sincere love for Him, stands in awe of Him, seeks His favors and avoids His wrath; he is not lost in material pursuits but in spite of his worldly engagements keeps his heart warm with God's remembrance, gaze constantly on benefits of Hereafter and fear of accountability.  Good deeds of Disbelievers and Hypocrites --- Mirage, darkness in depth of sea
  • 23. Action Items Ruku 1-5  Reform of society --- Reform of self and society through the implementation of Allah’s boundaries  Event of Ifk ---- Avoid spreading indecency  Measures for a pure society ---- Don’t follow the Devil’s way and seek Allah’s refuge from Satan’s incitements.  Principles of Purity of Society --- Follow the Laws of Haya (Sight, Adornment)  Allah is the light of the heavens and Earth --- Protect the light of guidance by strong connection to the Qur’an.
  • 24.  Prayer of everything in this universal --- Extoling His glory --- Specially birds  Is rain only due to physical natural law ? ---- Advantages and disadvantages  Allah has created every animal from water.  Hypocrisy ---- Announcement of Faith on Allah and His messenger but turning away from obedience. Ruku No 6:
  • 25.  ‫َا‬‫ن‬ۡ‫ع‬َ‫ط‬َ‫ا‬ َ‫و‬ ‫َا‬‫ن‬ۡ‫ع‬ِ‫م‬َ‫س‬ ----- True success  Intend is to be obedient not swearing of oath to convince sincerity.  Promise of vicegerent for those who are obedient --- establishment of deen  Ayah 55 – Istakhlaf ---- Be obedient, witness to man kind --- Allah will firmly establish their religion and He will replace state of fear with security. Ruku No 7:
  • 26.  Importance of privacy ---- Injunction of seeking permission for Mahram & relative at specific times.  An exemption for old women in Hijab but even than no display of adornments.  Etiquettes of eating and serving food.  Individual or collective meal.  Salutation --- Salam --- Announcement of entrance & departure --- Greetings of peace & blessings. Ruku No 8:
  • 27.  Respect and honor of Rasolallah(SAW)  Calling of the Messenger(SAW) --- Sunnah ---- Not an ordinary call but good Here and Hereafter both depends on it.  Admonition to those who oppose Rasolallah(SAW)’s orders.
  • 28. Action Items Ruku 6-9  Scenes of Faith and Light --- Glorify Allah/Tasbih, act only according to the methods prescribed by Allah SWT.  Domination of religion against hypocrites and infidels --- Strive to dominate religion by witness onto truth.  Islamic Society Organization & training Etiquette & Instructions --- Admission to the house, following the orders of the Salam  Etiquette, Respect for the Prophet - --- Committing to Collectivity and Collective Responsibilities
