“We have sent to you the Seven Oft

A companion of Prophet Muhammad PBUH once
recited Surah Fatihah after a scorpion bite after seeing
this Prophet PBUH commanded him saying, “How did

9. Etiquette of Prayer – start with the praise of Allah (swt)
Definition of Hamd ------ praise (excellence, benefactor).
Praise and gratitude
Relation between Ibadat (Prayer) and Dua (Supplication).
11. ILLAH
Illah means the one who is being worshipped.
Someone who can remove distress and fulfill
needs, influence events.
Someone who has superiority over the others
in status, power, and strength.
There is some element of mystery surrounding
the personality.
Who fulfill one's needs, provide shelter &
protection, soothe a disturbed heart and fill it
with peace & calm.
Godhood and authority are compulsory
together. This authority is indivisible, with no-
one else having the least share in it.
It is entirely up to Him whether to accede to, or
reject, any intercession.
12. RABB
One who brings up, rear, fosters or nourishes.
Guardian, patron; one who supervises or is
responsible for carrying out improvements.
One who occupies a central or focal position,
who himself gathers people round himself of
his own or round whom people gather out
themselves.
Leader, head, chief, or lord; one whose word
is obeyed, and whose supremacy or over
lordship acknowledged, and who has authority
to dispose of men or things.
Owner and master.
The basic meaning is to bring up but it also include following connotations:
13. IBADAH
Acknowledging someone other
than oneself as holding
supremacy or enjoying over
lordship and of abdicating one's
freedom and independence in
big favor, of relinquishing any
resistance to or disobedience of
him, and of surrendering oneself
totally to his authority.
In Quran the word “Ibadah”
comes in three senses.
Worship.
Bondage, obedience.
Submission and slavery in
every aspect.
14.
15. DEEN
It stands for the entire way of life, of
which the composite factors are:
Sovereignty and supreme
authority.
Obedience and submission to
such authority.
The system of thought and action
established through the exercise
of that authority.
Retribution meted out by the
authority, in consideration of
loyalty and obedience to it, or
rebellion and transgression
against it.
17. Sirat Al
Mustaqeem
A Sirat (straight path) that is surrounded by two
walls on both sides,
With several open doors within the walls
covered with curtains.
There is a caller on the gate of the Sirat who
heralds, 'O people! Stay on the path and do not
deviate from it.'
Meanwhile, a caller from above the path is also
warning any person who wants to open any of
these doors, 'Woe unto you! Do not open it, for
if you open it you will pass through.'
The straight path is Islam, the two walls are
Allah's set limits, while the doors resemble
what Allah has prohibited.
The caller on the gate of the Sirat is the Book
of Allah,
while the caller above the Sirat is Allah's
admonishment in the heart of every Muslim.
(Tafseer Ibn Katheer)
“Sirat Al-Mustaqim, is the clear path without branches” (Tabari)
Imam Ahmad recorded in his Musnad a hadith; Allah has set an
example:
18. Who are the one who you favored are who are the one
who incur Allah’s wrath and who are astray?
Favored ones --- Those who know and act upon it ----
Prophets, Truthful, Martyrs, Righteous
Who incur Allah’s wrath --- Those who know and do not
do it ---- Jews
Who are stray --- Those who don’t know --- Christians

19. Hadith Qudsi
Allah SWT says, “I have divided the prayer (Al-
Fatiha) between Myself and my slave equally
and My slave shall be granted what he asked
for.”
(Sahih Muslim)
19
20. • Allah says, ‘My slave has praised
Me.’
Therefore when the slave says,
‘All praises and thanks are due
to Allah, the Lord of the
universe’,
• Allah says, ‘My slave has extolled
Me.’
When he says, ‘the Most
Beneficent, the Most Merciful,’
• Allah says, ‘My slaves has glorified
Me.’
When he says, ‘Master of the Day
of Judgment,’
• Allah says, ‘This is between Me and
My slave and My slave shall have
what he requested.’
When he says, ‘‘you alone we
worship, you alone we ask for
help,’
• Allah says, ‘This is for My slave and
My slave shall have what he asked
for.’
When he says, “guide us to the
straight path, the path of those
whom You have favored, not of
those who earned Your anger,
nor of those who have gone
astray’
