2.  Some points to remember for the correct pronunciation of words in
French

 In French language the letter “H” is mostly silent. As a letter it has a
sound but in words it is not pronounced most of the time.Example:
Homme , Hotel
 The letter “J” sounds like “s” in measure.Example: Je , Jardin
 The letter “T” and “D” have a soft pronunciation like Hindi alphabets
_____& _____.Example: Tu , Tomate , Difficile, Diner
 “CH” always has the sound of “SH”, “CH” together has “______”
sound.
 Example:Chaise, Chanter, Chapeau

 The Letter “C”, if followed by letter “I” and “E” , sounds like “S” but
elsewhere sounds like “K”.
 Example: Ce , Cafe
 Letters “S”, “T” , “D” are mostly silent in French language.

3. In French, accent plays an important role in the
pronunciation. There are 7 accents which are always
predefined.Various accents are as follows:-
 L’accent aigu : Can be found on letter “e”.
 L’accent grave : Can be found on letters “a, e, u”
 L’accent circonflexe : can be found on vowels.
 La cedilla :This accent comes under “C”.
 Le threma :when two vowels come next to each other as
“oe”.
 L’apostrophe : This accent shows the omission of a
vowel.
 Le trait d’union: This accent is used to connect certain
words.
