2. WHAT IT IS?
One of the special modes of carrying out international business is a
turnkey project. It is a contract under which a firm agrees to fully
design, construct and equip a manufacturing/ business/ service
facility and turn the project over to the purchaser when it is ready for
operation for a remuneration.

3. Other services that are always
present in contracts “turnkey”,
are:
 The supply of materials and machinery
transport thereof.
 The completion of civil works.
 Installation and assembly, and the set-
up and operation of the proposed work.
 In certain intances, it is also possible to
include staff training and technical
assistance.

conditions required by the customer.

of the work in one person.
 The overall obligation assumed by the
contractor to the client to deliver a fully
equipped work.

 The contractor assumes the full
implementation of the work.

8. ADVANTAGES
 Contractual relationships with one
person.
 Contractor's responsibility forces him to
give a good result.
 The contractor has a fixed price.
 Eliminates the extra expenses.

9. DISADVANTAGES
 The price is high.
 The client can´t intervene in the project.
 It is sometimes difficult to find specialists
for specific projects.
 Control is difficult.

10. EXAMPLE
