Pulsed Power Measurement using GT-8552A USB Power Sensor
High dynamic range and peak (pulse) measurement capability make the Giga-tronics GT-8552A
USB Peak Power Sensor ideal for testing in wireless communications and defense EW
applications. Covering 100 MHz to 8 GHz with 70 dB dynamic range of -50 dBm to +20 dBm,
the GT-8552A offers high-performance RF and microwave power measurement.
The peak (pulse) measurement suite includes pulse profiling, providing a power versus time
display of the pulse waveform, as well as accurate measurements of a large number of pulse
parameters, all facilitated with marker, gate and trigger functions. These measurements include
Peak Power, Average Power, Crest Factor (Peak-to-Average Ratio), Droop, Overshoot, Rise
Time, Fall Time, Duty Cycle, Pulse Repetition Frequency (PRF), Pulse Repetition Interval (PRI) and
Pulse Width.
Overall benefits of USB Power sensors are fast measurement speed and they are fully calibrated
with no need to cal or zero the sensor. Since they plug directly into a PC, you save the cost and
space of traditional power meters. Giga-tronics USB Power sensors include Measurement Xpress
software, which provides a windows-based user interface with a suite of measurement
capabilities including multi-channel power measurement with multiple sensors, math and
statistical analysis functions and strip chart, data logging and recording functions.
