4. The purpose
Cooperation with other schools in the
region - UNESCO ASP schools of SEE
Exploring the sites on the tentative lists
of World Heritage of UNESCO
Promoting them on the internet and
among the students in the partner
schools

5. Republic of Macedonia
Has one site on the permanent list of
World Heritage of UNESCO – the Ohrid
Lake and the towns on its coast – Ohrid
and Struga
Three sites on the tentative lists: the
archaeo-astronomical site – Kokino, the
cave Slatinski izvor and Markovi Kuli.

6. Example
The students have heard about Kokino,
but don’t know the real value of it
Kokino is one of the oldest "megalithic
observatories" in the world, along with
Stonehenge and Abu Simbel
Students should know that its our biggest
cultural heritage

7. The project
We propose cooperation with other schools in
the region - UNESCO ASP schools of SEE
Every school should make a research about
their sites that are on the tentative lists
Put the information, pictures, films on a joint
website along with the partner school from the
other country
Promote the website in the school and on the
social networks

8. Objectives
to increase the basic and extended knowledge
of the students about the sites in their countries
that are on the tentative lists of World Heritage
of UNESCO
to increase the cooperation with students from
other countries - UNESCO ASP schools of
SEE
to raise the interest of the students for other
sites located in the region

9. Activities
 informing the students about the Convention of UNESCO and the
role of the young people in the preservation and protection of the
sites in their countries
 making a research for the WH sites from the tentative lists, their
history, their purpose and use through the time, characteristics,
conditions nowadays.
 Visiting the places, taking pictures, making short films, markings,
interviewing the local people and experts about certain
characteristics or religious activities of customs,
 Creating a joint website
 Uploading the information and the pictures and short films on the
website and promoting it on the social networks,
 Presenting the information, pictures and short films to the other
students in the school.

10. Expected results
students will enrich their knowledge about the
natural and cultural heritage sites that are on the
tentative lists of UNESCO
students will establish a close cooperation with
students from the other countries in the region
with an active role in this project students will try
harder to keep the authenticity and the beauty of
the sites and will work more on promotion оf
these sites.
