Monarch butterflies migrate annually between Canada and the United States in the summer and Mexico for the winter. They fly as far as 3,000 miles to reach their winter homes in Mexico. The butterflies precisely navigate to the same locations in Mexico each year even though no single butterfly makes the entire round trip. Children in Mexico, the United States, and Canada observe and track the monarchs' migration each fall and spring.
