3. Student Feedback MGH Course.... This was an awesome course, I learned so much, thank you. This is the best organised course I have been on Mehrooz did such an amazing job teaching this course that I feel nothing can be improved on. Awesome course! I will definitely recommend this course to fellow students. I found the Honours program engaging and tangibly beneficial to my career This has been my favourite of the courses I have done so far, the lecturers were great and very interested in helping the students. I found the mix of lectures, field work and pracs to be the best way to learn.
5. MTEC Engagement Program Proposal The MTEC Student Engagement Program is designed to promote the minerals industry as a dynamic and progressive environment in which to work. Deliverables Deliverables Deliverables Deliverables
According to Prof. Bruce Hebble-White, as a result, the majority of students either do not know about the career opportunities with the industry and so do not consider studying minerals related courses; or they know but are dismissive of it due to the many misconceptions and negative messages conveyed through the media, community groups, parents and teachers themselves.
We have these fantastic messages – let’s get them out there.
Wrong Message: Gentleman not appealing to younger generation: crows feet (do I get that if I go to mines?); work hard, play hard culture (but I’m not a big beer drinker?); a great social life (why did it pan to a group of indigenous workers?); sounds to me that if you don’t put in a real effort, no one will offer you training; sends out a bad message. Right Message: Good aesthetics and music; gentleman is a young, dynamic fellow who seems very happy with his career decision to enter industry and promotes the great aspects of his company. Felt much more connection with this video.
