5. 2011 RatePlug Study Results
The studies looked at 49,775 real estate transactions in 7 major marketplaces in the U.S.
(San Diego, Chicago, Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, Rhode Island). The
data was derived from Agents that are Active with RatePlug and Agents who are not Active
with RatePlug in order to determine the Total # of Days between List date and Contract
date. The data included Single Family homes, Townhomes and Condominiums

Mortgage Advertising Practices
The FTC recently implemented new requirements regarding Mortgage advertising. It
prohibits misrepresentations and imposes recordkeeping standards on all real estate
professionals who provide information on mortgage products to consumers.

Relationship Disclaimer – RatePlug has added a new disclaimer based on the NAR
recommended language to our Property Flyer System that clearly states that the
Agent and the Real Estate company listing the property are not mortgage lenders
and any questions regarding financing should be posed to the lender directly. The
addition of this language protects the Agent from any potential misrepresentation
claims.
Recordkeeping Standards – the FTC has stipulated that any mortgage information
given to clients must be archived for up to 6 years. RatePlug now stores an image
of every property flyer created, as well as every RatePlug display that a client may
view and retains that image for easy recovery by both the agent and the lender.
