2. This test does not measure intelligence, your fluency with words, creativity, or mathematical ability.
It will, however, give you some gauge of your mental flexibility. In the three years since this test
was developed, few people have been found who could solve more than half of the questions on
the first try. Many, however, reported getting answers long after the testing had been set aside,
particularly at unexpected moments when their minds were relaxed. Some reported solving all the
questions over a period of several days. Take the test as your personal challenge. Sixteen (16)
correct answers out of the 22 = Genius.
Instructions: Each equation below contains the initials of words that make it correct. Finish the
missing words. For example : 60 = M in an H would be 60=minutes in an hour.
GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN!!!

WHERE AM I NOW? Consider the following points and make some notes
1. What are my greatest achievements?
2. What are my biggest challenges...and have I learnt from them?
3. What have I learnt about myself in the last 6 months?
4. Do I feel like a valuable and contributing member of my executive team?
5. What will people say about me at the end of my club officer year?

6. Club culture affects what people see, what they experience, and how they participate.
Today we will look at what culture is, how it is communicated, what a winning club culture
is, and how we can develop a winning club culture.
Some Questions:
Are your club members enthusiastic? Yes / No / Donʼt know?
Is everybody working as a team and collaborating?
Are there any free riders
Yes / No / Donʼt know?
Are you satisfied with your clubs performance? Yes / No / Donʼt know?
Is morale in your club high? Yes / No / Donʼt know?
Are membersʼ needs being met? Yes / No / Donʼt know?
Are membersʼ goals being achieved? Yes / No / Donʼt know?
Is our membership turnover rate acceptable? Yes / No / Donʼt know?
Using the quality club audit (pg. 7) as a guide, provide answers to the following
three questions about your clubʼs culture:
What are we doing that we should keep doing?
What are we doing that we should stop doing?
What are we not doing that we could do to improve club performance?

How does it affect my club?!
8. This session looks at three areas of club performance. We have called them the: ‘Three
Pillars of Success’. They are not the only pillars that hold a club together, but if not
considered by clubs they can effect the overall functioning and wellbeing of a club.

15. GENERATIONS ACTIVITY
In small groups choose one generational group and discuss how you could apply the mind
map information to 1) attract new members to your club, 2) maintain and motivate your
current membership, 3) encourage existing members to take on executive roles within your
club. It would be helpful to think about the following categories: medium, phrases /
slogans / words, images, communication methods, programs, activities, or events you
could offer etc. If time permits, repeat the exercise for another generational group. Is your
approach to the second group different to the first?
