1. Teaching Experience Nursing Question
Teaching Experience Nursing Question ON Teaching Experience Nursing QuestionI had a
telehealth patient, and I would speak to her at our telehealth meetings strictly about her
nutrition during her pregnancy. In my attached nursing process worksheets, I have already
written the things I spoke about with her and the outcomes, basically all the info are in the
attachments, now it just needs to be written in a couple pages about the teaching experience
that I had. Thorough istructions are provided as well at bottom of this text box.I have
attached my nursing process worksheets (basically a summary after speaking with this
patient a few times), as well as the rubric. Teaching Experience Nursing

Follow-up 1. Describe any patient needs you identified in your patient. List in order of
highest priority to lowest priority: She had improved her knowledge of her nutritional
needs based on how many weeks she is pregnant, and has applied the recommendations
made at her initial visit. 2. Were there any emergent needs and how did you address them?
Nothing emergent, and reimplemented her education on nutrition and what foods to eat
and avoid. 3. What patient teaching resources did you present to your patient? Please list
what was taught to the patient during initial response to the post in the forums and what
was taught if opportunity for follow up? She’s eating well. She drinks black tea. She is
sticking to drinking one cup of coffee a day to avoid caffeine toxicity. She is going for some
walks with her husband daily now so that she can get natural Vitamin D from sunlight. She
has no allergies to any food. She eats meat, and is eating 3 solid meals a day with snacks in
between. Her eating schedule is adequate. Her calcium intake is good, as she drinks a lot of
milk. 4. What interventions did you identify that may be helpful for your patient? What did
you suggest? I asked if she had tried eating Salmon since our last visit, but she found
alternative foods to make sure she has enough protein, iron, vitamin D, and Calcium. 5.
Were you able to involve family, and if so, how? Family was not involved at this time. 6.
What patient-specific questions may you want to ask the next time you speak with this
patient? – Has your diet changed since we last spoke, and if so, how? – Have you increased
the amount of times you eat during the day? – Have you incorporated fish in your diet, or
other recommendations from at our initial visit? What community resources, if any, did you
recommend? I did not recommend any community resources at this time. 7. How did you
feel while communicating with this patient in the forums? I felt great, she was very pleasant
and easy to speak with and genuinely was interested in our student-nurse education
teaching plans. Telenursing OB Care Plan Nursing Diagnosis Deficient Knowledge related to

Heroian Telenursing Clinical Assignment Patient Initials MC Age 30s Date of
Communication 03/04/2021 Initial or Followup? Follow-up 1. Describe any patient needs
you identified in your patient. List in order of highest priority to lowest priority: She
questioned if there was a possibility of her baby being hungry while in the womb, due to the
kicking she would feel in the middle of the night every night. I asked how often she is eating,
and she said she is eating more often, but smaller portions. She had improved her
knowledge of her nutritional needs based on how many weeks she is pregnant, and has
applied the recommendations made at her initial visit. 2. Teaching Experience Nursing
QuestionWere there any emergent needs and how did you address them? Nothing
emergent, but reimplemented her education on nutrition and what foods to eat and avoid. 3.
What patient teaching resources did you present to your patient? Please list what was
taught to the patient during initial response to the post in the forums and what was taught if
opportunity for follow up? I researched the question she had, about the baby being hungry
while in the womb, due to the nightly kicking. My researched stated that the fetus gets all its
necessary nutrients from the mother directly from the placenta and umbilical cord, so there
are no feelings of “hunger” from the baby. The professor and I suggested experimenting, and
try eating something small when she feels the kicking at night, and see if that helps. 4. What
interventions did you identify that may be helpful for your patient? What did you suggest? I
suggested the patient to maintain her additional caloric intake of at least 450 calories now
that she is at 27 weeks gestation. I advised that it was fine that she made her portions
smaller, as long as she maintains how often she eats in a day. I also readdressed the
importance of eating foods high in protein, iron and calcium. I asked if she had felt nausea or
different from the last time she spoke, she said she only felt heavier and felt heart burn,
5. hence why she started eating smaller portions. I suggested she try limiting her spicy foods,
and she’s going to keep it to once a week. 5. Were you able to involve family, and if so, how?
Family was not involved at this time. 6. What patient-specific questions may you want to ask
the next time you speak with this patient? – Has your diet changed since we last spoke, and
if so, how? – Have you felt nauseas? – Have you increased the amount of times you eat
during the day? – Have you incorporated the necessary protein and calcium in your diet, or
other recommendations from at our initial visit? – How has your heart burn been? – Are you
still feeling the nightly kicks? What community resources, if any, did you recommend? I did
not recommend any community resources at this time. 7. How did you feel while
communicating with this patient in the forums? I felt great, she was very pleasant and easy
to speak with and genuinely was interested in our student-nurse education teaching plans.
