The two ideas considered by the administration to redevelop the Old Marine Hospital area are:
1) Convert the hospital into a beauty center.
2) Integrate the area of the old hospital into the wider Molentargius Park area.
The administration would like to renovate the building near the beach and turn it into a public cultural center for use by citizens and tourists. Although keeping the original structure, the administration has proposed organizing the three floors to include facilities like a swimming pool, aquarium, gym, art rooms, band stand, photography room, meeting room, library, and cinema.
