1. Products Uploading
Back-end: A back-end database stores data, or web application.
Examples: Magento, BigCommerce, Joomla, osCommerce, PrestaShop, Zen Cart
There are few website which gives products uploading facilities but they are not backend like eBay,
Amazon, Google Merchants etc.
Front-end: Store Front (website)
Uploading Process:
This may vary by back-end to back-end. There are few details are same for all of the back-ends.
We can upload products via two method:
1. Manual uploading
2. Batch uploading or Bulk uploading (csv or XML or txt)
Name or Products Name: Name of product
SKU or Part No or Products ID: Unique ID for each product
Description: Products Detail (This may be in HTML format or plain text format)
Short Description: Overview of product
Category and Sub Category
Price (Cost Price, Retail price, Sale Price, Discount Price)
Tax (Most of time it is filled at the time of configure of store, and we have to select from the pre allotted
options)
Availability: In stock or out of stock
Quantity: Number of products available on store
Options or variations: This depends on the type of products, For example If a product is available in
different color we have create this options or variations.
Images: Image of products, If more than 1 image available we must add all of them (depends on
requirements). We must select image for thumbnail, main and large image.
2. Image Rules:
1. Must be without watermark (watermark may be competitor website name or manufacture
logo)
2. Must clear while zooming
3. Must match the requirement of the client
4. White Background preferable
Attribute: This is a common characteristic of product, like color, size, material, finish etc.
Attribute set: This a collection of different attributes which can be use in a particular type of products.
SEO Details (Meta Title, Meta Description, Meta Keywords)
Related products: These products are same in attributes or by chanracteristics.
Shipping details: these are mostly filled by client, but for eBay and amazon we need to put this.
Manufacture Info: these can be filled in category field or in dropdown.
