Women's roles and status have significantly changed over time. In the past, women were largely subservient to men and had few rights. They were expected to serve their husbands and families and were not able to own property, make major decisions, or access education. However, in recent decades women have gained greater independence, opportunities, and legal rights. Today women have higher levels of education and career prospects, and can participate more fully in public life. While challenges remain, women now have greater freedom and ability to determine their own paths. 1. The Comparison between Women in the Past, Present and the Possibilities for
Tomorrow.
Women. Women have various meanings and understanding throughout the year.
The common definition of it is a female adult. The other definition of woman is a
man’s wife, lover or girlfriend. Women in the past are typically known for their ability
to give birth from puberty onwards. There was also different types of spellings for
women we knew now. Starting from wifmann to wimmann to wumman and finally the
modern spelling woman. The age period of a woman starts when she is from the age
of 21 and above.
For thousands of years, women (in cultures dominated by men) were subservieant to
men. This started from ever since. The lineage in most cultures generally follows the
male line of the family. No rules or religion says so, but most male and his family
prefers it that way. Women in the past is defined to serve men and their family.The
old addage of women "barefoot and pregnant" exists in most areas of the world.
Women live to serve their husband and her family. In the far distant past, women's
role was to bear young and care for them. As part of that, women have traditionally
been very involved in food preparation, which in many cultures expanded to include
agricultural efforts to raise food as well as collecting water, gathering fuel for
cooking, and making of objects needed by the family such as clothing.Women must
make sure that their responsibles in the house are well prepared for the husband
and kids.
Women are not allowed to make major decisions in the family and are expected to
submit in all things to the husband. In many countries in the past, newborn daughters
are killed adter born. Women was not even encouraged to be borned. It is because,
womens are also labelled as extra problems. After the newborn baby girl is born,
extra expenses and protection needed for her. The only solution at that time for
many families is to get rid of such ‘problem’. Afraid of this, mother of newborn girl
babies hid their kids and send them far from their homeplace in order to ensure their
living.
Furthermore, women can never own anything. Women are not inherited with any
inheritance, not even from the father or husband. Men in the past prefer to inherit
their properties and wealth to their son, niece, son-in-law, brother or any male
eligible after themselves. Woman are always treated lower than men in order to have
constant control on them. Women are considered as equal as slaves then. They are
not equal to men in anyways in the past. In many parts in the world, women lose
their significant legal rights in marriage. Women do not have rights to choose their
life companion too.
Being slaved for the rest of their life in the past, violence against women occured
throughout that time. It is a technical term to show that women are being committed
against violence. Surveys of UNICEF, percentage of women aged 15-49 whose
husband are justified to hit their wife is as high as 90% in Afghanistan and Jordan,
89%in Mali, 86% in Guinea, 81% in Laos and 80% in Central African Republic.

2. Women have been treated low in the past in every terms. Not only got justified for
being hit by men whom are supposed to be protecting them, they are also dragged in
many sorts of complications. Sex trafficking, forced prostitution, forced marriage,
rape, sexual harrassment, dowry related violence and more. Women was treated as
heartless ‘objects’ to trade in and to be slayed in the past. Dowry is a term given by
women family for the men’s as terms of money, wealth and properties to satisfythe
men’s family. This has commonly happened in India. Due to this, many daughter-in-laws
and wives been abused badly in the past. Women was judged by quantity of
wealth at that precise moment.
Education is something women get no privilege at all in the past. they are not
permitted to go to school. Education is not permitted for women too. Education was
only for the males in the past. It was never encouraged for women. The percentage
of women in education level in the past was extinctively low. In each year, there was
only minimun 25% of women studying from the World War. Women are not dominant
in business too. They are used in used in the work areas like agriculture or handcraft
just to benefit from their physical power. The occupations which are available to
them are however lower in pay than men. In the 70’s, careered women avoid having
childrens as they have problems maintaining their house and work responsibilities at
the same time. As people at that time said, they have ‘double burden’ which did not
allow them to have sufficient time and energy for both work and family.
Moreover, they were no difference than slaves.They are not allowed to use their
brain in any circumstances as their thoughts won’t be bothered to be listened. It is
more preferred for women to stay quiet throughout any conversation. Most men
would not bother discussing important details with their wife nor in front of them as
well. In the Middle East country like Egypt and Turkey, women are not allowed to
voice out their opinion. Women are afraid to speak their opinion to men. They either
got hit or get neglected for doing so but mostly got hit. Afraid of that, women stay in
the dark from many view to save themselves.
Not only that, women are excluded from public roles in religious life. Women are not
expected to participate in public prayers. In the early 50’s, women are afraid to step
out of house to participate in any public prayers. It is because at that time women are
not defined with other roles except wife and mother. Any roles or responsibilities
outside the house are held by men. Even if they are out in a public prayers, it is
essential for them to hide their face and body from other men view. Showing your
face to other men except husband is sinful in some countries then.
Like said most books and references, women must only live to serve men. This
particular quote had been going on for ages since then. Some legal religious
devisors have stated that Eve was made from Adam’s rib, therefore she exists to
serve Adam only. This have been transcended to all females from then. Women are
not allowed to decide life for their own. They are labelled weak and always
dependable to others to live. In Thailand, women are not allowed to divorce until 90s.
They have to live with their life partner even if they like it or not. In India, it is a
considered wrong and unfaithful to stay apart from their husband no matter how
abusive life could get.

3. For the women now, it is actually silly to think of how our mothers, grandmothers
used to live. Women in the present are anyhow different from the past. Women in
21st era are different. They have vision and mission. They stopped serving as equal
to slaves but serve themselves more now. Women now are a total opposite definition
of women in the past. Now women are the secret behind a man’s success and her
own success as well.
In addition, women now are braver. They are entitled with proper education. By
having education, women don’t doubt themselves and become confident. By
confident, they managed to enrol their daily life well. They are pursuing their
education level as high they could. A woman’s IQ level is now labelled higher than
men. Women now are enrolling their Master and PhD in many level in many
countries. The probability of genius women in every aspects are increasing.
According to a historian of science, women now earn nearly 54% of all bachelors
degrees than men. As education level increases, more women tend to fit in it as well.
For example, women in United States are 40% in doctorate and 31% of then are in
engineering as well. Women are no longer swallowed by shadows of men. They
voice out their point of view with no fear. Nevertheless, they are an important asset
in our society. Women now feel they are important and embrace.
Women are still getting sexual harassment, sex trafficking and even acid throwing.
But this never stops them from making a change in their life. Rather than grieving,
they intend to learn ways to overcome such situations. Women start to get involved
in self-protection martial art skills as Karate and Taekwondo. They learn to drive, to
take part in home protection activities in neighbourhood and more. They improvise
their life to stay ahead in their life.
Women like Hillary Clinton and The First Lady are important to nation. Their
intelligence and willpower are not mistreated. They are needed for creating new
changes massively. They could be said as the women behind a man’s success. Men
are like diamonds but women now are like the gold base beneath it. Without women,
it seems hard to take steps. Women in the past would stumble and fall only. But
women now would rise up from those fall as phoenix. For example, Oprah Winfrey is
now a world known CEO of HARPO Production and Oprah Winfrey Network. It is
one of the two organizations that helps people all over the world, mainly for needy
women. She earns approximately 3.0 million a month (75 million a year in 2013) and
a total of 3.0 billion till June 2014.less of them knew the past life of hers. She was
born in Mississippi, Tennessee. She was a victim of rape by her father in age 9, and
had miscarriage kid from her father as well a year later. She learnt from her past that
most women cannot shine after dark deep incident and she decided to help those
needy ones.
It would be inappropriate to say that their role have changed, but instead they have
taken new roles along with the role they used to play earlier. Women earlier had the
role of home maker alone, now they are the bread earner and home maker together.
Women now could make big changes in people’s life instead of only making changes
for family like how women in the past did. Like for example, Mother Teresa. She
dedicated her life to help many children and women throughout the world. She

present are not too different. They have been improving themselves in order to live a
better life. As time passes, women learn from their mistakes the generalizations have
many more exceptions in today's world. Women in the future would be ruling the
nation instead of helping men side by side. That’s the vision of women in future. To
create better life than present. Now is never enough.As total conclusion, women now
and then are never different. They came out of their shell and improvising their
mistakes. Women in future takes a little longer time to be in a total spotlight but it is
never impossible. It is just a stone throw away, all it need is support from men and
strength to make it possible by women.
