FINAL YEAR PROJECT
• Develop Remote Management System for University College of Technology and
Management Malaysia (KUTPM), the University which located in Shah Alam,
Selangor. Remote Management System is developing to replace their manual
system before. The main purpose of this systematic system is to reduce the
carelessness that occurs in manual system, save energy and time and available for
24 hours as well as to simplify it. Microsoft Visual Basic had been used.
1. Network Administrator
a. Install and support LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems.

d. Monitor networks to ensure security and availability to specific users.

i. Maintain network facilities in individual machines, such as drivers and settings of personal
computers as well as printers.
j. Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, personal
digital assistants, smartphones, software deployment, security updates and patches.
2. Server Operation and Support
a. Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server
resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying
completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
b. Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
c. Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are
successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is
recycled and sent off site as necessary.
d. Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary.
e. Create, change, and delete user accounts per request.
f. Provide Tier III/other support per request from various constituencies. Investigate and troubleshoot
issues.
g. Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with
impacted constituencies.
3. Technical Support & Troubleshooting
a. Lead and Manage install / configure new PCs and existing problematic PCs including its operating
system, Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes & Smartsuite, Keyfile, antivirus, and Novell client, etc
accordingly.
b. To call the respective users to collect their PC whenever it is ready.
c. To assist in liasing with vendors / Consultant - by calling and follow up
on outstanding issues regarding maintenance and repairs of IT
hardware/equipments plus resolving software/program error messages.
d. To clean the server room especially from dust, arrange the server / UPS
switches / modems / cables accordingly.
4. Helpdesk
a. Manage, organize and attend user request, give 1st and 2nd level support thru telephone and inform
respective IT personnel to follow up and resolve the problem.
b. To assist user to resolve hardware and software problems.
c. To Install, configure and trouble-shoot all software problem (AutoCAD, Primavera,F-Secure,Ms
Office, Ms Project ,etc) at users’ dekstops.
d. To assist user with connectivity problem. For instance, checking network patch cable, network
point and switches connection.
e. To advice PJH users on PC related matters.

a. Operate and execute printing management of the whole organization, ensuring that all printers are
operating smoothly and distributed accordingly to all staff, to ensure print services available during
operation hours.

a. Create new user accounts
