2. Pritam Ghoshal born in a musical family on 9th October 1978. Music is in his blood. He has received it as a
gift hereditarily as his grandfather Late Shri Jaharlal Ghoshal used to play all the percussion instruments and
he was a great singer during his days. He is survived by a number of disciples today. Pritam’s father (Shri
Arun Kumar Ghoshal) and two Uncles (Shri Barun Kumar Ghoshal and Shri Arup Kumar Ghoshal) are also
into music and they play Violin, Tabla and Vocal respectively.
Pritam’s first lesson of vocal started at the age of 14 when he literally got into music. He then came into
contact with Shri Pranab Naha the disciple of the Great Sarod Maestro Pandit Radhika Mohan Moitra. He
introduced Pritam to Sarod and taught the basic techniques of playing sarod. After the initial three years of
“Talim” he was very fortunate to receive the blessings of the Great Sarod Maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan
Sahab. In 1995 he accepted Pritam as his disciple. Now he (pritam) is continuing his lessons from Ustad ji..
Pritam is a Sarod Player with full of energy and modern approach towards his music. His purity of notes,
resonant strokes and clarity are the key to his soulful Sarod which takes the audience to a different
dimension.

3. 1. He has composed music for the “VARSHAMANGAL” a dance choreography done by Sharmistha
Mukherjee in Malhar festival of ICCR
2. In Hanover Germany he went for collaboration between 3 dance forms Indian Kathak, Turkish Belly
Dance and Spanish Flamenco for which he composed the music for the Indian Kathak Dance form.
3. He has composed music for “Anondodhara” a Sharmistha Mukherjee production an unique duet
between the Rabindrasangeet and Kathak. This has been staged in various parts of India.
4. Represented India in the Ethno Musical meet in Fano Island, Denmark.
5. Represented India in the Ethno Flanders Musical Meet in Oostende, Belgium.
6. Participated in the International Musical Meet and the Residency Programme called “EVENTO 2011” in
Bordeaux, France.
7. Collaborated in the Indo-African Musical meet called “Insurrections” Held in South Africa in 2012.
8. Participated in the Trio Production between the three art forms Dance, Music and Poetry composed
on the Life of Rabindranath Tagore called ‘ANANYA’.

4. India:-
1. He has performed for Eenadu TV (Urdu)
2. He was invited to give performance as a guest artist at the Annual Programme of the organization
Sankalp, Meerut
3. On 18th February 2003 and 11th June 2009 he performed at India Habitat Centre the very prestigious
stage in New Delhi.
4. Pritam has performed at the prestigious stages in Kolkata like Birla Academy, Birla Sabhaghar,
Madhusudan Manch and Sisir Manch.
5. He was invited to perform at the ITC Sangeet Sammelan, Mumbai.
6. In the year 2007 December he has performed at the Delhi International Arts Festival (Youth Festival)
in Delhi.
7. He has performed at Epicenter the prestigious stage in Gurgaon, Haryana.
8. He has performed In the prestigious music festival called “Lalitarpan” at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
Abroad:-
1. In 2004 he traveled to Switzerland with the Sufi Exponent Dr. Madan Gopal Singh to perform at a
festival in Geneva and Zurich.
2. In 2005 he has traveled to Italy for a Residency programme called "SOUND RES“.
3. He was invited to participate for the Kleins Festival in Hanover, Germany in July 2006.
4. He has performed at the World Book Fair and India Festival in Frankfurt, Germany in October 2006

5. 5. In 2006 December he was invited to perform at Tehran in Iran on a 3 day music festival.
6. He has performed at the prestigious “BOZAR” festival in Brussels, Belgium in January 2007.
7. With Dr. Madan Gopal Singh he went to Kathmandu in Nepal to perform for an Organisation
called "HIMAL”
8. Performed at the Queen Elizabeth Hall at South Bank Centre in London.
9. Performed in a Six city tour in Belgium with a Trio called “Kurta Environment” with the Bassist Pieter
Leanerts and the multi percussionist Suchet Malhotra and performed at a very prestigious venue
Zuiderpershius in Antwerp, Belgium.
9. Performed with the Sufi exponent and Scholar Dr. Madan Gopal Singh and the Harmonic Choir exponent
Sir David Hykes at the Historical Venue The Submarine Base in Bordeaux, France.
10.He Participated with The Group Dr. Madan Gopal Singh and Chaar Yaar at Parramasala Festival in
Sydney, Australia.
