                      What does a director do?
A director is the person who directs the actors and film crew in making the film.
They are in charge of how the film is make, how it should look and come and
create new spontaneous ideas. They instruct the first assistant director and works
with the director of photography
The director is responsible for;
•   Turning the script into a sequence of shots
•   Tone
•   Camera angles
•   Mise-en-scene
•   Lens effects
•   Lighting (with help of cinematographer)
•   Set design (with production designer)
•   Coordination of actors
•   Writing
•   Financing
•   Editing

                           Nicknamed , The master of suspense!


Alfred had many directorial trademarks, some of them are…

• Unusual subjective point of view shots

• Insert shots of a woman's hairstyle, frequently in close-ups

• Always formally dressed, wearing a suit on film sets

• Dark humour and dry wit, especially regarding murder

• Often used the "wrong man" or "mistaken identity" theme in his movies

• Usually includes fantasy elements in his films
• Most his films tend to be either dark or colourful, and sometimes contain
  scenes of both.
• He often likes to open his films with a quiet night time snowfall

job…

    mise-en-scene

•   Overlook plans to create brilliant new ideas

•   Organise well how the film will be made, when and what times it would be
    appropriate to make it.

Description Of Job




I’m am responsible to all props and costumes.

I have to make sure that all the props and costumes are ready to go and
everyone is wearing and got everything they need.

I have to makes sure and check the supplies of props like making sure
there are enough supplies and props in case a scene needs to be re-shot a
couple of time.

I need to have a record of props and costume positioning, which ensures
that there is good stability.

                 Director
 An art director is usually the person who oversees the entire design
department, working with photo editors and editors to coordinate what
images will match up with what words.

 Straight away you know you will have to create what cannot be
found.


Operating a camera requires not just technical skill but the ability to
compose visually dynamic and interesting images




An art director works on creating visual concepts.
What will you do to make sure you are successful at
                    your job?

To make sure I am successful at my job I would firstly
need to.....

Know my stuff. As an art director I would need to know
what the technologies are and how they’re used. I need to
know what everyone on my team does, and why. Leave the
details up to them, but be sure I know what’s involved.

Keep the specialists in check. Making sure that I'm being
a good team player.

 Make sure that you are communicating what you do
with your readers.

•    Works closely with director, to listen/make sure the visuals are good and setting
the mood.
•    Check Mise-En-Scene and lighting issues
•    Can add filters
•    Ensure the visuals are setting mood and making people feel a certain way
•    Ensure that what goes on screen looks visually pleasing
•    Helps and instructs camera operators, could film

How I will be successful at my job
• I will make sure that I inform everybody in the
  group of the decisions I am going to make.
• I will always have the objective visuals in mind
  when filming
• I will revise Mise-En-Scene in greater detail
  before filming so I am fully aware of its
  importance in our opening sequence

Camera operator

              What does a camera operator do?
A cameraman is a professional operator of a film or video camera.
They’re responsible for physically operating the camera, composition
and camera angles throughout a given scene or shot.
The camera operator follows instructions from assistant director and
director of photography. They shoot the film, in some sense, we see
the film through the cameraman's eyes.

A cameraman operates a variety of cameras to record video film for
motion pictures, television shows and commercials. They have to
operate cameras by following instructions from our Assistant Director
and Director of Photography.

  business videos, etc. When shooting a film, TV
  program, news broadcasts or even a
  commercial
• Cameramen take shots from a wide variety of
  angles to capture it in the best possible way.

  Zoom lenses, filters and other photographic direction features are
 typically utilized to increase the intensity or change the mood of a shot or

How we will ensure that we’re successful at this job!

         • Make sure camera movement is steady and controlled
         • To not waste time shooting something I don’t visualise when natural

         • Consider the lighting in my angles to not ruin the shot
         • Have a 'Good Eye'. This means having the ability to spot a good shot or filming opportunity. Being able to frame a
           shot. This means knowing and differentiating between what looks good and what doesn't.
         • Be able to work quickly (and most importantly calmly) under pressure

Sanel    • Be able to work alone and also being able to work within a team
         • Always be enthused and positive towards the production. Having a positive can do attitude, will always put you
           ahead of your work.
         • Find solutions, not problems.

 Gia    • To listen to what my group members have to say.


          • I will arrive at location with time to explore and see what would look good before
            filming starts

Rahel     • I will recognise how the shots I will be taking will be used
          • I will understand the purpose of the opening sequence fully so that my filming will
            illustrate the story better and get it across correctly to the audience

Description Of Job I’m am responsible to all props and costumes. I have to make sure that all the props and costumes are ready to go and everyone is wearing and got everything they need. I have to makes sure and check the supplies of props like making sure there are enough supplies and props in case a scene needs to be re-shot a couple of time. I need to have a record of props and costume positioning, which ensures that there is good stability.
