12. SYSTEM FOR REMOVING PAINT PARTICLES
FROM THE GARMENTS USING AIR SHOWER
AND VENTURY FOR CUSTOMER- JOHN DEERE,
RANJANGAON

13. Customer Requirement
At John Deer Tractor Part gets painted in the Paint Shop in which some of the parts
get painted manually. In Manual Painting the painter’s whole apron gets fill by paint
powder.Initially Painter removes this powder by pneumatic gun in the open
atmosphere but this is hazardous to environment as well as to the operator.
Envair Solution
Initially Envair provided standard Air Shower for removing dust from the garments
along with venturi to extract dust from the air Shower, but after Installing the system
following problems occurred.
1) Air Shower jet velocity was not sufficient to remove paint particles from the
garments.
2) The Paint Particles from the garments remain in the air Shower and get deposited
on the inner surface of the air shower and also come out of it and they also create
breathing problem for the Operator. This is because of insufficient suction by the
venturi.
Corrective Action by Envair
After this Envair gave another solution in which the basic idea is to create negative
pressure inside the air Shower and to extract all the Paint powder from the air shower.

14. Following Modifications
•Blower direction was reversed to throw air out instead of creating air
jet.
•Hepa Filter and nozzle cover was replaced by suction grill.
•Proper pneumatic gun was provided for creating Air Jet.
•Suction grills were provided at top cubical to take out side fresh Air.
Due to this modification the air flow pattern was set from
vertically top to bottom to outside direction which created negative
pressure. The outside thrown Air contains paint particles to filter this air
we have used two dust collectors for two blowers as shown in the
diagram.
Result:-
After doing this modification when operator gets wash by
pneumatic gun the Scattered Paint powder gets sucked by the blowers
immediately. and the thrown air gets filters in the dust collectors and
clean air is delivered to the atmosphere.
