Hi I’m Cris, iOS Developer in KLabCyscorpions. In this post, I want to share with you my presentation on Code Review guidelines for iOS. But, what is Code Review? According to Wikipedia: “Code Review is systematic examination (often known as peer review) of computer source code. It is intended to find and fix mistakes overlooked in the initial development phase, improving both the overall quality of software and the developers’ skills. Reviews are done in various forms such as pair programming, informal walkthroughs, and formal inspections.” Want to review code? Then First things first! For you to review code effectively, you need the basic know-how of reviewing code as both the developer and the reviewer. These slides will give some guidelines on how to think in both these roles when reviewing code.

Readings for diversity and social justice, 3rd Ed. New York: Routledge, Taylor & Francis. Critical Consciousness Development Journals (CCDJ) 3 to 5 Pages each 2 due throughout course. Title page and reference page not included in 3 to 5 pages and mandatory for assignment. In order to deepen your process of learning in this course, I want you to spend some time critically reflecting on the class discussions and the readings by writing 2 critical analysis papers. These should serve as a log of your own experiences and critical reactions to the class exercises, discussions, readings and assignments. These analyses must be based on the readings, class discussion, exercises, and video presentations due for that section (YOU MUST REFERENCE AT LEAST 3 OF THE READINGS). If you are critical of a position, present alternative positions and provide evidence for your position. Address how the readings illuminate an issue. Address how the readings have helped you re-think old ideas or ways of working. Address questions that have been generated for you and why these questions are important to your practice and to your life; how you have or could use the ideas in your professional practice or personal life; and how your thinking is changing given the readings. Discuss implications for social work practice in each analysis. Most importantly though, this analysis should serve as a way for you to reflect on how your own identities and knowledge/ experience around oppression/ privilege may be shaping your reactions and learning process. Do not summarize what is in the readings. The instructor already knows what the readings say. Rather, apply the readings to your practice and/or to experiences in your life. The important thing to remember is that the critical analysis allows you an opportunity to reflect upon your experiences, to learn about yourself, and to learn from others. Critical analyses will be handled in a confidential manner. These analyses will not be graded for their descriptions of what you are learning (everyone will learn differently). Instead, they will be graded for their completeness and for their depth of insight and reflection. The reasons a student might receive an analysis with points deducted are: a) failure to address substantively the points above; b) poor writing – errors in grammar, spelling, etc.; c) lack of self-reflection; d) merely repeating content of the readings; e) handing in the analysis late; f) failure to discuss the readings. Critical analyses will be graded on the quality and depth of your thinking. These analyses must be free of typographical errors. Margins should be no larger than 1-inch on each side of the page. Joining the Conversation In college writing, it is important that you can express yourself clearly and concisely. However, it is often not enough to simply explain what you're thinking. It is often necessary to explain how your ideas and arguments relate to the ideas and arguments offered by other writers. In other words, writing is a type of conversation, and in this lesson, you will begin learning how to join that conversation. Student Learning Outcomes addressed in this unit: Write in a style appropriate to audience and purpose Demonstrate knowledge of indivdual and collaborative writing processes Develop ideas with appropriate support and attribution Use Edited American English in academic essays Read, reflect and respond critically to a variety of texts Vocabulary for Unit 3 These are the vocabulary words for this unit. Remember to incorporate them into your Discussion Board in this unit. A written conversation works much the same way. Before writing about or responding to any text, you must begin by reading carefully and actively. This lesson introduces you to those skills. Quoting, Paraphrasing, and Summarizing For many writing assignments, you will be required to use source material in your essays. Using source material can strengthen your writing because it shows that you have found evidence to support your main points from other writers. There are several different ways to incorporate source material into your writing: quoting, paraphrasing, summarizing, and a combination of any or all of the above. When Should You Quote, Paraphrase, or Summarize? Whether you decide to use quotations, paraphrases, or summaries depends on a number of different factors. Here are some suggestions for how to decide which to use: You should include quotations when The author’s credentials will give your paper credibility It is worded in a powerful, poignant way The wording is very technical and difficult to translate You should include paraphrases when The source material is important but the wording is not (like facts and statistics) The writer is not an expert in the field that would give your paper more credibility You should include summaries when The overall argument or main ideas are important but the details are not The source materials needs to be shorter than the original How do I quote, paraphrase, and summarize? - 2 - Section C Please write your essay in the blue book. Write an informal narrative about "some" composing process of yours. Essentially, you will write a Reflective Self-Evaluation of yourself as a college writer. What exactly does that mean? It requires you to: a. look back over a recently completed process b. think reflectively about that process c. critically evaluate what went well, what didn’t go well, or what you might have done differently As the aforementioned examples suggest, reflective writing is writing that describes, explains, interprets, and evaluates any past performance, action, belief, feeling, or experience. To reflect is to turn or look back, to reconsider something in the past from the perspective of the present. So, in your final essay, you will reflect and make an evaluation of your experience in this course. Remember, reflection involves multiple angles of vision. Just as light waves are thrown or bent back from the surface of a mirror, so, too, reflective writing throws our experience, action, or performance back to us, allowing us to see differently. We view the past from the angle of the present, what was from the angle of what could have been or what might be. Multiplying your angle of vision through reflection often yields new insights and more complicated (complex) understanding of the issue on which you are reflecting. Professors generally look for four kinds of knowledge in reflective self-evaluation essays: self-knowledge, content knowledge, rhetorical knowledge, and critical knowledge (aka judgment). Following are ideas for each of these types of knowledge, which may be used to generate ideas for your essay. Choose only a few of the questions to respond to, questions that allow you to explain and demonstrate your most important learning for the course. You may write about your composing process for academic papers or creative genres or a combination of both. Reflect as thoroughly as possible upon your writing process and explain it. Your narrative should include whatever you DO when you write, as well as whatever you DO when you compose. Composing should be understood in the broad sense, i.e. composing goes on in your mind when you are cleaning your refrigerator, mowing your grass, etc. It also occurs when you are researching, taking notes, or procrastinating. In essence you are NEVER NOT composing something. So the key to your reflections is to include everything you do that makes a difference in your writing, from having to use a certain pen, to listening to music or sitting in the library. Both your formal and informal processes impact the way you produce a written work, if you use a formal method of note taking or outlining, if you compose on the computer or with pen and paper explore any and all of these activities that are helpful to you in your process. Explore all possible aspects that apply. This is a useful exercise for now and for you to revisit and revise in the future .
