Working Title:
What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later
Gold by EDEN
Audience:
Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc. Use the
Audience Classifications PowerPoint on Blackboard to help you develop this section.
Why would your project appeal to this person? Discuss each audience element in relation to
content (why would your product appeal to the age group? Why would your product appeal to the
gender? Etc.)
My target audience will be teens/young adults, both male and female because EDEN’s songs are
mostly targeted for this type of audience. I think this is because a lot of their songs are relatable to
their listeners, for example a lot of their songs are about relationships and thoughts that people
often worry about round this age. However I think that my product will suit people in the lower class
and middle class the most because these social classes are most likely to experience the events
that EDEN talks about in there songs and I think people in the middle class would be more likely to
own products such as Spotify or I-tunes. I think because that this social class is more likely to own
these products they will be more likely to come across the music. I think that my product will suit
both males and females however I think that my product will suit the male audience more because
the story of the songs is from a boys perspective and mostly talks about the trouble that boys go
through rather then females meaning that the music will be more appealing to males because they
are more likely to be able to relatable. My product will have mainly gloomy shots and a gloomy
tone because the tone of the music is quite negative and if I do this my product will be more
appealing to my audience because the majority of the audience that listens to this music is
listening to it because they’re
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
Review your progress throughout the year- what skills and knowledge have you acquired?
How has the subjects you have studied this year informed your choice for this project?
What have you studied and how will it have a direct impact upon your project?
Experiments (trial and error)
I think that my irn bru project will help with the creation of my music video because I learnt skills on
premier that I didn’t know before, for example before the irn bru project I didn’t know how to add
the transitions from one shot to another and how to change the colour tone of the clips/tint the
clips. This will help my product to be more appealing and help to make it look more like a
professional music video rather then something that I had to quickly make in 5 weeks. My irn bru
project also helped to get better at time management and knowing what I should do first and that I
should leave some spare time at the end of making my product so that I can go back and
fix/improve anything I need to as well as allowing me to have some time to fall back on if
something goes wrong when making my product. The experiments that I had to do for this project
have also allowed me to test some of my ideas and see what works and what doesn’t work as well
as allowing me to find some new techniques that I can do in my main music video. Such as adding
black strips on the side of the camera to make my video look more intense and gripping to the
audience, it also allowed me to test the type of shots that I could use in the creation of my music
video and after doing this I realised that I need a lot more shots and I need to have some fast
paced shots just as well as slow paced shots otherwise my music video gets quite boring and
unattractive to my audience.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
What is the concept for your project and what are you going to make?
What research will you need to conduct and how will it help you make your project/
I am going to make a music video for the song Gold by EDEN. For this I will be using a range of
different shots to represent the past and the present while also sticking to the gloomy and slow
tone the singer is trying to stick to with his songs. To do this I will have a range of different shots

that have just the colour tint to them but I will also have another range of shots that will have the
colour tint as well as some sort of cassette effect to resemble that those shots are in the past and
are a memory that the singer is remembering. I will do this to help to suck the audience in and to
make them feel like they’re there and experiencing the moment with the singer allowing the song
to have a bigger effect on the audience. The research that I have done so far has mainly been
looking at the music videos that my singer has also made so that I can see what type theme the
singer usually uses in his music videos and to help me get some ideas that I could use in my video
that will be easily recognised by his fans.
Production Techniques (approx. 150 words)
What specialist techniques do you need to consider? (e.g. green screen, Steadicam, post-
production, sound, etc)
Does this require any specialist equipment/training/demos?
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
How do you plan to evaluate the work? Reference conducting on-going evaluation and your final
self-reflection, analysing your work and its outcomes.
