3. INTRODUCTION
• Social Networking Sites (SNS) plays an
increasingly important role in:
• The lives of many young people and presents them with
both opportunities and risks.
• To build social network or social relations.
• For representation of each user, his/her social links.
• To share connections, view and express their opinions
and thoughts with their counterparts
4. • Many of the reasons young people may encounter risks through
SNS have roots outside of the technology, in issues of young
people's personal and social development. Young people need
support to develop the appropriate skills and resilience to navigate
online social networking risks and opportunities. Peer groups need
chances to negotiate and develop shared understandings of safe
and reasonable online behaviour patterns.
• It helps in Connection with friends and family who stay far off in
other places.
5. OBJECTIVES
1.To examine the most popular and influential
social networking sites amongst students/youth in
Azam Campus.
2.To study the awareness regarding the different social media platforms
among the
youth/students of Azam Campus.
3.To find out the purpose of students/youth having membership in social
networking sites in Azam Campus.
4. To suggest the pros and cons of social media in Azam Campus.
6. METHODOLOGY
• To understand the usage of SNS among Azam campus
students with the help of empirical data.
• For the said purpose a survey has been conducted among
200 students in various institute of our campus.
• For the research study
• sample size - 200 respondence
• belonging to different age groups were randomly selected
and interviewed from 8th September 2014 till 16th September
2014. Age group of 18 to 31 years as they are early adopters
of advanced technological applications.
• The PRIMARY COLLECTION method was undertaken for
research…
• The surveys were done by circulating questionnaires
personally and also some of the data were collected through
interview. This research also involves observation-both direct
and participatory method, where direct observation was
made with the students, their peers and friends which helped
knowing some of the facts related to the research.
