ANNUAL REPORT PRESENTATION SUMMARY
Under ClimaAdapt Project, WALAMTARI is implementing
Capacity Building to the stakeholders from Andhra
Pradesh and Telangana States. Climate Cell was
established at WALAMTARI. For monitoring and
managing water resources efficiently sensors were
developed and installed at on-farm, canal and reservoir
levels. Canal Network Flow Monitoring System software
was developed by Irrigation engineers. Scaling up the
ClimaAdapt project initiatives to the ongoing and new
projects – Kakatiya Mission for monitoring water in
tanks of Telangana, CADWAM and CWC Projects funded
by Govt of India, for research and studies using sensors
on water use efficiency. Involved children from schools
in development of sensor systems, awareness on
climate change and studies on water use efficiency and
agricultural practices. About 46% women participated
and total participants were about 15000 in year 2014 in
the capacity building activities conducted.
