1. Performance Workshop – Charisse
Today we created an ethos as a class and discussed what we had picked out from our impro
sessions, the ethos we came up with was:
 To be experimental with movements and ideas
 Must have a willingness to learn, share ideas and use other people’s ideas in our
dance company
 Must communicate with the rest of the company (if you can’t attend a meeting ect.)
 Must be organised with ideas and equipment
 Must be able to adapt ideas and have your own ideas adapted
We all decided and agreed on these terms as a company as we had all said this is what we
all need to abide by to be successful.
After this we started a task where we sat in a circle and discussed everything we liked about
our improvisation session and brainstormed ideas, this is what we came up with:
Task 5
 Including clapping games?
 Vulnerability of children, dance could change halfway to show adults
 Kids programme into news report?
 Car Crash Advert – Leah
 “You could be happy” Snow Patrol
 Adapt dance around a modern day child-catcher
 Include difference of life with children with disabilities
 Going back to the same motif – repetition
 Sing nursery rhymes – “ring-a-roses” – creepy
All these ideas may or may not go into our piece that is based on “Childhood”
