Saying the Isti'adha Audibly vs. Silently - Isti'adha is recited audibly when: Reciting for others to hear Commencing the recitation in a group - Isti'adha is recited silently when: Reciting Qur'an in silence Reciting Qur'an alone, regardless of whether one is reciting audibly or silently One is taking turns in a group and isn't the one commencing the recitation In salat. Regardless of it being an audible or silent salat, or praying in congregation or alone, or leading the prayer or otherwise.
26. Repeating the Isti'adha If the reciter cuts off from the recitation and wanted to resume, does he repeat the isti'adha or not? If the pausing is due to a matter related to the Qur'an (ex. sajdat at tilwa, tafsir, correcting a mistake, or extracting a ruling) then he need not repeat the isti'adha. If the pausing is due to sneezing, coughing or forgetfulness, then he need not repeat the isti'adha on the condition that the pause is not long. If the pausing is to a matter not related to the Qur'an (ex. talking to someone) then one must repeat the isti'adha
27. Ways in which Isti'adha is recited when starting a Surah قطع الجميع Cutting all three off from each other وصل الجميع Joining all three with each other وصل البسملة بالسورة Joining the basmala and the beginning of the surah وصل الاستعاذة بالبسملة Joining the isti'adha with the basmla

29. If one was reciting surat at tawbah from any place other than the beginning, then they are given the choice to recite the basmalah or not to.
30. There are two ways in which isti'adhah is recited when one is NOT starting from the beginning of the surah. 1) وصل and 2) الوصل ثم القطع
31. Add basmalah after isti'adha if starting off the recitation with the name of Allah,one of His attributes or a pronoun referring back to Him ex. الرحمان
39. There are two ways of joining two suwar that are not in order in the mushaf 1. قطع الجميع Cutting off all three 2. قطع الاول ووصل الثاني بالثالث Cutting off the first and joining the second with the third.
