10. The Challenges
There are two challenges in this Product Development
1. The coating is water based , but the min. coat wt. required
is 10 gm / sq.mtr.
2. The original Air Permeability / Porosity , must be
maintained

This can be met with help of a Air Blower attachment as
shown in the figure on the next slide.
14. The Air velocity could be easily altered by adjusting the
dampers on the Air Blower.
By blowing air on the coated web just after the Myer
bar location, the porosity of the fabric will be
maintained.

The temp setting inside the Drying zone as under
Zone 1: 70 deg C
Zone 2: 80 deg C
Zone 3: 120 deg C
Zone 4: 70 deg C
Coating Speed for the Trial Run : 20-25 mtrs / min.

Water borne adhesive is coated on release liner, by comma
coating method ,the same is dried in the drying tunnel and
then it is laminated with the leather sheets at the lamination
end. We have specially designed the lamination , so that
leather can feed in sheet form with help of a conveyor

On another release liner , water borne , polyurethane ,
skin coat is applied , dried, and rewound.

In this pass the body coat is applied on , the same
