3. What is a review of the literature
● A literature review is an account of what has
been published on a topic by accredited
scholars and researchers.
● In writing the literature review, your purpose is
to convey to your reader what knowledge and
ideas have been established on a topic, and
what their strengths and weaknesses are.

●Information seeking:This skill gained ability to
scan the literature efficiently. To identify a set of
useful articles and books.
●Critical appraisal: This skill gained ability to apply
principles of analysis to identify unbiased and
valid studies.

5. Ask Yourself Questions
● What is the scope of my literature review?
What purpose is correct?
● How good was my information seeking?
May be information yet-undiscovered.
● Has my search been wide enough to ensure
I've found all the relevant material?
May be good literature still.

6. Yourself questions each article
●Is it clearly defined? Is its significance (scope,
severity, relevance) clearly established?
Do not obscurity.
●Could the problem have been approached more
effectively from another perspective?
Better than one-way argument
●Are the conclusions validly based upon the data
and analysis?
●What data is correct?

7. Final Notes
●A literature review is a piece of discursive prose.
Summarizing one piece of literature after another.
●If you are writing an annotated bibliography.
You may need to summarize each item briefly.
But should still follow through themes and
concepts.
