These were discussed in Leviticus 23
We are required by God to keep them
They point to what God will do for us
So that we may be saved
There names are…
Passover
Pentecost
Tabernacles
This found in Exodus 24: 15-17

3. Other Holy Convocations
Atonement
Day of Fasting
Trumpets
Referred to as a memorial
We gather together that day and do no
servile work
Leviticus 23: 24-27

4. What about the others…
Our other feast days were not
commanded by the throne of God
Wisdom’s day
Purim
Dedication

5. The Throne of God
Partakes in our salvation
Each one does something unique and
vital for us
So that we may be as God the father
intended
No one but Christ
Could die for us
Take blood out of his side to clean our

6. Multifold of works
Due to time constraints
The scope of this presentation
The works of each member of throne of
God will be tabled for another occasion

7. Pentecost
Feast of Weeks
It was the 2nd of the great feasts
Always occurs on a Sunday
At first glance it seems like a day
Used in an agriculture society
To signify harvest time
There is much more to it than that

8. Its true…
They would present their first harvest
of wheat before God
They could not eat of their harvest until
this was done
Leviticus 23: 14
We don’t have farms
Many of us have no idea how to process
wheat

9. Lets look a little deeper
Those ordinances and statues represent
Our participation in our salvation
It is true God requires us to partake in
our salvation!
He requires works, acts, exploits,
sacrifices
Some of which are unique to the individual
No one could be the father of many
nations like Abraham
No one can drink your cup of salvation and
have the exact trials exactly like you have
experience them

10. The feast of the Harvest
Just like the other great feasts
God does a work for us and we must
also work as well
During Passover
Christ’s great sacrifice
Gave us the opportunity to pass over from
death to life
To qualify we must remove the leaven (sin)

11. Many don’t realize
Jesus is the way
We must walk in the way
Jesus is the light
We must walk in the light
There is no getting out of participating
in your soul salvation

12. During Pentecost
The first fruits are given to God
Our best work and effort must be given
to God
Not to work, not to ourselves, not to
school, not to our spouses, not to our
children

13. Why
Because God is first and all things in
our lives must yield to that
Remember the children of Israel could
not eat the harvest until…they offered
the best to God first!
It is no different for us

Which is the best effort
Writing a paper for your professor
To write countless rough drafts
To research the topic for hours
To document all of your resources
Yet you are unable to…
To read 10 verses of the bible daily
To listen attentively in service

When you are giving your best
When you are giving him seconds
When you are giving him crumbs

16. Pentecost
Points to the fact we give God our best
effort
Our highest quality work
Because our lives are a living sacrifice
to God
If we don’t we will not qualify for the
work the Holy Spirit does for us

Who gave his best effort to please his

Only then will we be acceptable unto
God the Father
So that we can be waved before the
throne of God

20. But wait…
We can not get there by ourselves
Our physical bodies cannot tolerate the
journey or be in the presence of God
A change must occur
That will affect our spirits as well as our
flesh
This work done on our behalf is from the
Holy Spirit

21. The Feast Harvest
Helps us to understand the work that
Holy Spirit will do on our behalf
So that we may be a perfect offering for
God the Father
Only the Comforter can do this work for
us

22. The Holy Spirit
Is a mystery and is often misconstrued
by the churches and peoples of this
world
Some say he is not God but an angel
Others simply don’t believe he exists
Some believe that he makes you speak
gibberish
Or jump up and down in a crazed

23. What did Jesus say
Well in St John 16: 7-8
He would reprove the world of sin,
judgment and righteousness
One definition of reprove is convince
Simply put the Holy Spirit will give you
understanding (convince) of what is true

24. Christ also said…
He had to leave for this work to occur
In St John 16: 13-14
The Holy Spirit would also glorify Lord
Jesus
He does even more than that for us

25. The Spirit of God
Makes intercession for us
Simply he pleads on our behalf
He also helps restore and reconcile us
He takes our prayers to God the Father
He bears witness to the spirit within us
He teaches us about God’s word
Romans 8: 16, 26-27.

Gives us gifts, talents to be used to
praise God
Changes our spirits and bodies so that
we may be acceptable before God the
Father

the throne of God does for us!

works on our behalf

We offer those first fruits because
We want to qualify for the great works
the Spirit of God does on our behalf
We want him to take our prayers and
pleas to God the Father
We need him to intercede on our behalf
We must have him bear witness to the
spirit within us

When the plants’

When a seed is placed in the ground
It can not change into a growing plant
Unless water is present

The process is dynamic and wondrous to
behold

Did you know it does not matter how
much sunlight or how nourishing the

If a plant does not have water
It cannot use the light to make food
It cannot access the nutrients in the dirt
Lord Jesus compared us to plants in
multiple parables
The sower and the seed
The mustard seed
The good seed and the tares

The things the Holy Spirit will restore

37. We are like plants
In order for us to obtain the nutrients
in the word of God
We need the Holy Spirit to explain the
precepts, statutes, commandments
He will convince us that this is the only
way to live
Opening our eyes to true facts
He did this with Israel in the past

It will assist the plants in becoming
established
To establish means: to become firm in,
to secure the permanent existence, or

Those are the rocks that will stunt your
growth

A seed will irreversibly change
When you are converted you change

Searching for food
Just like a plant’s roots search for
nutrients in soil and it leaves reach for the
sun

Remember when you began your search
for God
You were not satisfied until you found
the truth
The hunger was intense
The Holy Spirit pushed us and open our
eyes to seek the truth

42. The former rain
It doesn’t last forever
We must take advantage of the rain as
much as possible
We need to get as firmly rooted
For the perils and trials we will
encounter prior to harvesting

43. What perils
Fierce winds
Events that will try to uproot you, break
you, or take you away from God
Drought
Troubles and afflictions that will test your
fidelity to God
Weeds
Cares of this life that will choke away your
righteousness or stunt your growth
Ravenous creatures
Challenges to your integrity that will try to
maim or devour you

44. We will not be left alone
He will guide us
Yet the growth we attained us must be
maintained
“This is our part”
We must continue to reach towards the
light
We must continue to grow in Christ’s
word

45. Until…
We become strong and mature
The Holy Spirit is not done with us yet
He will continue to nurture us with rain
during our growth
Prior to the harvest a special rain is
sent
The Latter rain so that we are able to
produce fruit

One of the roles of the Holy Spirit is to
prepare us so that we will have first
fruits acceptable to be waved before
God

No force like it in earth
Vital yet dangerous
Purifies things to its natural or more
desirable state
Once an object has been processed by

recognizable
Fire effects an object at the smallest
level possible
