WVUSD Blackboard Learn Project Objectives: Increase access to learning Course work, evaluation, and collaboration for students Online professional development for staff Anytime/Anywhere connection Support and enhance communication through strong networks for collaboration Build professional learning communities for teachers and staff  Green Learning (Central Document Repository – Paperless Environment) Foster the Anytime/Anywhere connection for parents and students Single sign-on (gateway) to access WVUSD information and services Efficiency Teacher preparation time Redundancy and effort
WVUSD Blackboard Learn Project Implementation Sequence: Purchase K-12 Starter Edition - 2007 Train early adopters - 2007/8 Upgrade to Blackboard Enterprise with the addition of Content and Learning Systems Purchase Community System - March 2009 Upgrade to Blackboard Release 9 - March 2009 Form a Blackboard Advisory group Reconfigure Learning System, Community and Content Creation of the WVUSD branding by advisory group Develop a Training Package Select District Trainers (Technology Integration Specialist) (Waiting for names to replace RIF’d trainers) Training for all Trainers (Tentatively scheduled for July ’09) Add District Curriculum  Develop Online Courses Professional Development Opportunities WVUSD Administrator training Parent Login
