• 74.4% of fatal crashes were lane or roadway
departure crashes.
• Speeding and aggressive driving, impaired
driving, and restraint use were contributing
factors in 81% of fatal crashes.
• The most prevalent first harmful events for fatal
and serious injury crashes were overturning
(34.0%), collision with fixed object (27.6%), and
collision with motor vehicle in transport (25.6%).
