many skills. E.g. writing an editorial for a local paper, making
a speech at a town hall meeting. etc.
DESIGNATED RESPONSES Occasions where students selects from a pre-set list of
responses or opportunities or where students create their own
response within a limited framework e.g. tests, quizzes –
multiple choice, T/F, matching, short answer, fill in the blanks,
etc.
ACADEMIC PROMPT Students are presented with a stimulus and asked to
communicate an original response with no particular
audience in mind e.g. narrative report, literary analysis, etc.
SELF ASSESSMENT Students reflection on and of their own learning: e.g portfolio
reflections, etc.
