The student found some tasks in the unit tedious and confusing as they had only basic modelling tutorials before being asked to do more advanced work. However, once completed, the student was impressed with their simple but effective model. Certain modelling tools like the mirror tool were difficult to use for connecting polygons without making them non-planar. Overall, the student was impressed with their work given their limited experience and felt they utilized their design pack well to create their sidekick as originally envisioned.

1. Unit 66-Sidekick
Review
Overall in the unit, I think my work was to a decent
standard, I wasn’t too disappointed by it, although I
found certain tasks tedious and a little confusing as
we’d only just finished with the very basic modelling
tutorials and we were thrown into the deep end.
But once It was done in the end, I was impressed with
my model and how simple it actually turned out to be
when it wasn’t just myself panicking at the littlest of
tasks within the unit.
Some things I found rather tedious were being thrown
into modelling with very basic knowledge and utilities
that we were aware on how to use, such as the mirror
tool within Lightwave Modeller, it was difficult getting
it all centred and easily connected as some of the
polygons became non-planar after I made little
adjustments.

2. I’m impressed with my work give the experience I had
when I designed, modelled and presented my sidekick,
I feel I used my design pack to an advantage to be able
to make it to how I originally anticipated, with the
exception of some new additions to the sidekick to
make it seem a little more to spec.
