There are around 105+ Profession, each one with its own benefits and
losses. The purpose of the Presentation is to provide information about the
“Product Manager” as a Career, opportunities, Benefits ,skills required for
Product Management.

Introduction to Product Management.
• Product management is vital to delivering innovations and driving business growth. It is an important organizational
role that is growing in popularity.
• The main objective of product management is the development of a new product or products, Which is better than
what is currently available, or at least is unique, in order to be of value for the customer.
• Product management doesn’t only add to meet the objectives of the product and organization, it can also choose to
remove something from the process, which is called an elimination decision.
• Product management spans from strategic objectives to tactical activities, including:
 Setting a product vision and strategy. This includes defining personas and analyzing market and competitive
conditions.
 Defining what the product team will deliver and the timeline for implementation.
 Providing cross-functional leadership, most notably between engineering teams, sales and marketing, and
support.

Roles of Product Manager.
The Product Manager is the team leader who drives the team to a successful product end.
Roles of Product Manger may include:
1. Strategy-
The product manager is responsible for setting a product vision and strategy The product
manager owns the roadmap and must prioritize building what matters most to achieve the strategic
goals and initiatives behind the product.
2. Release-
Product managers must plan what their teams will deliver and the timeline for
implementation.The product manager is responsible for defining the release process and
coordinating all of the activities required to bring the product to market.

3. Ideation-
Every organization wants better ideas, but it is tough to manage and prioritize them. Product
managers own the creative process of generating, developing, and curating new ideas. They determine
which ideas should be promoted into features to push the product strategy forward, namely those that will
achieve key objectives for the product line and business.
4.Prioritization-
He needs to understand prioritization in order to be a successful product manager
as they have to decide which feature to give more priority and which to be implemented later.
Also, product managers should be able to execute. They need to get things done.

Leading a product from conception to completion is no easy task ,and product managers deserve their own toolkit.
Today, a wide variety of tools are available to make product management easier. This includes everything
from setting product strategy to the tactical side of building out features and creating wireframes.

Day to day work for Product Manager.
As a product manager, you may actually end up playing one of multiple roles. Product Manager wear multiple hats and
do things that no one else wants to do. Much of his job involves filling in the gaps to assess where the team may be
lacking and where he can fill in.
• primary job is to handle everything that must be done to get your product shipped. That is a challenging
task, and the reason why product management can feel overwhelming.
• Much of product management is knowing what to build and what not to build. As a product manager,
everyone is constantly pitching ideas to Product Manager. if the ideas help in reaching those goals, Product
manager narrow in and figure out which ones to pursue.
• One of the many jobs of a product manager is to fully understand what a customer needs, what company is
looking to achieve, and balancing that with your limited resources.
• Product Manager work as a leader at the forefront, who is constantly communicating across all
organizational functions. This leader makes sure that everyone is moving at the same pace, and working
towards the same goal to be the first team over their market finish line.

• Product management is one of the hottest and fastest-growing roles in business right now. In just two years, the
number of product management roles in the US has grown by an astounding 32%, outpacing the increase in demand
for overall roles by 5 times.
• In the last two years, there has been a 26% growth in mid-level product management roles and a 51% growth in
senior-level product management roles. Entry-level roles only experienced a small bump of 10%.

How to be a good Product Manager?
If someone had asked you what you wanted to be when you grew up, chances are that you did not say "I want to be a
PM(Product Manager)“. You will not know about the product management role until you gained some real world business
experience for yourself. You can certainly learn the basics of product management through books and seminars, but it is
not enough. Many new PMs read up about the role but then struggle to put their knowledge into action. So, what are the
best ways for new product managers to gain confidence and become product leaders?

Salary of Product Manager.
No matter what industry you are in, salary changes with Experience and seniority. Product management is no different.
• According to PayScale, the average salary of product managers in India is ₹1,669,290 per annum. Although the average
product manager salary in India is around 16 lakhs, it can go up to 30 lakhs per year with experience and added skills.
• Even the starting pay is quite high for this role. You can expect to earn somewhere around 7-8 lakhs per year
when starting out. And when you add profit sharing to the mix, you get an additional 50,000 to 1 lakh added
in your pay.

Sundar Pichai, Indian Born computer scientist known as CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of Google and Alphabet actually
started as Product Manager at applied materials. In 2004, Sundar Pichai enter Google as Product manager, where he and his
team work on Google’s Chrome Browser.
Indira Nooyi was born in Tamil Nadu, India. Before becoming CEO of PepsiCo, Nooyi Began her career as Product Manager at
Johnson & Johnson and was closely associated with the launch of sanitary napkins.
Amit Ranjan being an entrepreneur has also worked at PepsiCo, Asian Paints& Godrej before working at national
eGovernance Division, Ministry of IT, Govt of India. Amit is the key Person who develop SlideShare and DigiLocker and make
them success.
Pravin Jadhav, Founder, EX MD & CEO of Paytm Money, before working on his dream project work for Rediff.com India Ltd. as
