Storyline:Introduction of eBuddy
Storyline:Mobile is huge, 4x PC ownership, 3X TV ownershiphttp://www.flickr.com/photos/gsfc/4647159387/sizes/o/in/photostream/
Storyline:Apart from mobile being huge, the mobile internet will huge as wellMobile internet will be bigger than than the normal web in about 2014
Storyline:We also see that mobile is growing extremely quickWe have grown to 16M active users in only a few year
Storyline:So, How can we as developers monetize this mobile potentialIn this presentation we will share our Vision on what’s happening in the market and our experiences.
Storyline:-I will show you four trends that could define the future of how developers can monetize their mobile traffic
Storyline:Similarly to what Google adsense did for search, mobile advertising will create an enormous market of SME’s advertising their servicesExample: pizza place around the corner is able to sell its previously unsold inventory to the consumers nearbyhttp://www.flickr.com/photos/smoothdude/3084216733/
Storyline:This is happening quicker than you might expect, at this moment 1 out of 3 smartphones searches are for nearby placeseBuddy is not doing location based yet, we’re waiting for the market to consolidate.
Storyline:-The Brick & Mortar model will be copied to the online world as wellWe’re expecting that appstores will be the method of choice of distributing mobile contentApp stores offer easy billing and shelf spacePicture source:http://www.flickr.com/photos/conrad1967/3966594029/
Storyline:-We see OEMS, OS vendors, Operators and independent parties launching app stores on Mobile-Appstores are coming to your Browser, TV, tablet and desktop as well-We expect to see app stores emerging on the web and desktop software as well-More than 40 appstores right now, Consolidation in the market is required
Story line:-We’re present in all big appstores-eBuddy has done >80M downloaded in the different appstores-GetJar is the main source of downloads, - eBuddy is the most popular aggregated IM app in all 77 countries in the Android market-eBuddy is the highest ranked independent IM app in 42 out of 69 countries Picture source:http://www.flickr.com/photos/conrad1967/3966594029/
Storyline:With operator billing one-click in-app billing is made possibleThe absence of easy to use micropayment solutions on a worldwide scale is withholding rolling out virtual goods on mobile on a WW scaleSuccessful regional examples of virtual goods on a regional scale include Flirtomatic, QQ, etc
Storyline:We’re startig up this revenue stream on iPhone right now with an in-app storeProduct: Selling smiley’s, special avatars etc.On J2ME we’re waiting for acceptable worldwide billing solutions, first trials will be started soon
Storyline:The next bilion internet users will come from the emerging marketsPeople in the emerging markets will skip the fixed internet and jump directly into mobile
Storyline:For example: Indonesia is already the third biggest country on Facebook and is expected to grow even further as more and more Indonesians will join the internet
Storyline:We’re also seeing huge demand for our products from the merging marketsExample: we have more than >12M registerd users in Indonesia. Next up will be India, in a few years this might be our biggest market, growth rates are spectacular currently.
Storyline:The emerging markets can be very lucerative as well. We see decent advertising rates in Asia.We see very good eCPM’s from Indonesia, which are as a high as most western counrties
