3. Research into areas of design and creative practice and their relationship with
academic traditional research. This was a research into philosophy of science and
methodology. Funded by the UK Arts and Humanities Research Council.
Tasks used to include:
• Doing research in philosophy of science and issues concerning academic research in
areas of creative practice, such as urban design and planning, and all connected
activities (writing, publishing and participating in conferences)
• Delivering a doctoral research training courses as a lecturer
• Organizing workshops and lectures
• Developing a methodology course for the Department of Urbanism of the TU Delft
• Participation in various conferences and seminars
Prior to my appointment as Assistant Professor at TU Delft, I was a PhD
candidate at the same institution. I was entirely funded by the university with
a teaching contract and therefore needed to teach and publish like any other
regular research staff since 2008. This is why my teaching experience predates
my appointment as Assistant Professor. Previous to my work at TU Delft, I
acted as an assistant lecturer at the University of Sao Paulo, as I was
completing my post-graduate Masters in Spatial Planning at the University of
Sao Paulo.
