Houses in ancient Mesopotamia were made of mud bricks or sandstone blocks and had at least 3 stories. The wealthy had wider homes than the poor. Roofs were used as additional living spaces. In Egypt, homes were typically made of sun-dried bricks and included separate spaces for families, guests, and slaves. Canadian houses today usually have bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens and are typically made of materials like wood, brick or drywall. Ancient Greek homes centered around courtyards and separated living spaces for men and women.

2. HOUSES IN MESOPOTAMIA
In Mesopotamia, everyone had a house. The rich house’s were wider than poor’s.
They were at least 3 stories high. The 1st floor was the entryway and courtyard. Meals were
sometimes cooked here and children played here. The next 2 floors were where the family
lived, there was sleeping rooms as well as storage rooms. The roof was flat and some people
considered the roof as a floor. The roof was where people usually cook and eat.

3. MESOPOTAMIA #2
Houses were built out of sandstone blocks or mud bricks. The Poor people
usually had to walls share walls, and the opposite with rich families. Houses were built
around the ziggurat (like a temple) section so they could give offerings to the god.

4. HOUSES IN ANCIENT EGYPT
The houses in ancient Egypt were made out of bricks because of its availability. The
ancient Egypt's invented molds to make bricks. The bricks were baked in the sun instead of a
oven. A few homes were built with stone. But most were built of sun dried brick. Each house had
a front and back door. Some were built on top of a ramp to reduce the amount of sand coming
inside the house.

5. HOUSES IN ANCIENT EGYPT
The common people had nice house, especially in the country where
they had more room to build. Each family had there own home, but some
were not as luxuries or big as the nobles. They used ramps instead of stairs.
The flat roof was the center of family life. Meals were prepared on the roof.
People often slept on mats on their roof tops to catch the evening breeze.

6. EGYPT HOUSES FOR NOBLES
The nobles lived in huge homes along the Nile River. They
painted their homes white because it kept their home cooler. Some of
these huge homes had as many as 30 rooms. Each room had a
purpose. There was guest rooms, and kids rooms, and bathrooms! (No
running water, though.) A few homes were built with stone. But most
were built of sun dried brick.

7. CANADA
Most houses in Canada are made out of drywall, brick, wood or
glass. Most roofs are made out of tar shingles. Houses in Canada have
living rooms, bedrooms. Not everyone could afford a house

Houses in Canada have usually living
rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, washrooms, kitchens, and laundry
rooms. A house in Canada are usually 2-3 stories high and have a front
and back yard

9. GREECE
Houses in ancient Greece were built of
stone, wood, and clay bricks. They were strong and
comfortable. Meals were often eaten in the courtyard.
The family would gather there in evening and share
what happened to them that day and tell stories and
fables. The courtyard was the center of family life.

10. GREECE #2
Men and women lived in different places. There was a men's
dining area and all that stuff. In some houses, there was also a slave’s
room. There were work rooms, bedrooms, Gynaikon (place for
women's), Andron(place for men), bathroom, kitchen, storage room, and
the courtyard
