18. Outdoor Activities Hiking, Camping and Backpacking One of my passions is experiencing nature at its best as well as in the most challenging environments. My adventures have taken me hiking from the peak of local San Jacinto to majestic Mt. Whitney to backpacking and camping four nights in the Paria River slot canyons of Utah. My favorite backpack trips have been into the Grand Canyon via Bright Angel and Kaibab trails, especially the trail to the Supai village in Havasupai Indian Reservation to visit Navajo, Havasu, and Mooney Falls. I have to admit the most beautiful walks in the world are the Milford Track and the Routeburn Track in New Zealand. I’ve walked on glaciers and in rain forests, seen literally hundreds of waterfalls after a morning rainfall, as well as breathtaking scenery. 10
