Writer's Statement
Thesis Statement: Climate change is natural; however, advances of human society such as
deforestation, industrialization, and the burning of fossil fuels, have increased the rate at which the
climate is changing.
My three major sources stood out when writing my research paper on climate change. My main
source was Louis Bergeron's, "The World Can be Powered by Alternative Energy, Using Today's
Technology, in 20–40 Years, Says Stanford Researcher Mark Z. Jacobson." In this article, Bergeron
describes an energy researcher's plan to power the world with renewables within the next few
decades. My second source was Marc Lallanilla's, "Greenhouse Gas Emissions: Causes and
Sources." In this article, Lallanilla talked about the

"A girl on planet earth has a one in four chance of being born into poverty." (Martin Ravalion and
Shaohua Chen) Girls who are born into poverty are less likely to go to school, but they can rise
above that and go to school if they had the opportunity. They don't have the opportunity due to many
reasons whether the family can't afford it so they send their son, or they are not allowed to be
educated. The enrollment gap between boys and girls who are enrolled in school is abound. Many
intrepid people including Malala Yousafzai and Suma are working to get girls aneducation and/or
out of poverty. If girls had the chance to be educated they would make a big impact on their
countries by playing a role in the economy, reduce the amount of girls...show more content...

(UNFPA. Marrying Too Early: End Child Marriage) The amount of girls who are be married is out

they can't read or write to support themselves. "The #1 cause of death for girls 15–19 is childbirth." (
World Health Organization) If they were educated about their bodies this would be different. If
they were able to pay for health care to properly birth their child that could possibly save some of
them. Not to mention that their bodies can't handle that strain at such a young age. "Girls with 8
years of education are 4 times less likely to be married as children." (Mensch, Barbara S.,
Susheela Singh and John B. Casterline) If girls are educated there is so much more opportunity
for them to have a better life, and not have to stay home and raise a family when they could be at
work, or at school. If women got the chance to be educated they would be much less likely to just
stay at home, doing home things, and raise a

Persuasive Essay About Self Discipline
Everybody at some point in their life has wanted to make a change, hopefully for the better. For
most, it can take some serious self discipline to actually put these changes into full force. Here's a
proposition: take the time out of the day to sit down and actually think about the outcomes of the
problem, and then decide if it's worth going through the motions to make that change. Because
everyone on this earth has a given amount of time everyday, no one can use the excuse that they don't
have the time of day; that's bullshit. Yes, some may have a busy schedule but you have breaks
throughout the day. May it be the required break they get from work, the commute from school to
home, or when they're alone with their thoughts at night;...show more content...
They should've known that they weren't truly alone, since the individual has been there for them
always, but they really must've to think that their best friend wouldn't been with them the one time.
The minute the individual found out about their friend's death, they started to crash and burn, tearing
themselves apart, blaming themselves, saying that it's their fault that they couldn't save you since
they didn't know. Their mental and physical state started to deplete and they've become accustomed
to the numbness that has spread throughout their body. They start to eat unhealthily and just stop
working out all together. Minor health problems start to invade their system, they get sick more
easily than before and just wait until it surpases. It gets to the point where they've been dealing with
so much numbing pain that they, themselves, start to contemplate the same thoughts their friend was
thinking years back. They have the mindset that, they'll be reunited with their best friend if they were
to meet the same fate. Eventually, they will, but they're thinking about meeting that fate sooner
rather than later. But they don't want to really do this, they want to get better, but the rut they've
created is so coarse and rugged that it'll be difficult to fix those problems. First off, the individual
finally decides to go through with

Persuasive Outline-Organ Donation
PERSUASIVE SPEECH OUTLINE – ORGAN DONATION
Topic: Organ donation
Thesis Statement: Becoming an organ donor after death is not only an important decision for
yourself, but it is also an important decision for the life that you may have the power to save.
Purpose: To persuade my audience to consider becoming organ donors after death Introduction: 1.
Organ donation is a selfless way to give back to others, and to be able to make a huge difference by
giving another person a second chance at life. 2. The number of patients waiting for organs far
exceeds the number of people who have registered to become organ donors. 3. Many stigmas related
to organ donation – relatively false, and in order to be well informed, you must...show more content...
Also, how long a patient has been waiting for an organ is a big factor when choosing who will get
which organ * Main Point 2– Arguments against organ donation and refutations 1. People of all
ages and backgrounds can be organ donors, and if you are under 18, you must get permission from
your parent before registering as an organ donor. 2. There are many myths about becoming an
organ donor, but here are just a few: 1. If I agree to donate my organs, the hospital won't work as
hard to save my life: When you go to hospitals for treatment, doctors focus on saving your life, not
someone else's, and the doctor in charge of your care has nothing to do with transplantation. 2. Organ
donation is against my religion: Organ donation is consistent with the beliefs of most religions,
including Catholicism, Protestantism, Islam, and most branches of Judaism 3. An open–casket
funeral isn't an option for organ donors: The donor's body is fully clothed, so no one can see the
markings or scars of surgery for organ donation. For bone donors, a rod is inserted where the bone
was removed, and for skin donors, the skin donation is taken from the person's back, and since the
deceased is clothed and on their back in the casket, the scar is not visible. 4. I'm too old to donate:
There is no defined cut off age for donating organs, and there have been many successful organ
donations from donors in their 70's and 80's. The decision to use the organs

May 18, 2015 A Persuasive Thesis Statement on Youth and the Internet
Dangers of the Internet, Fact or Fiction?
Today's youth are tomorrow's leaders. They are our future. So what kind of leaders are we
creating? What affects the way our children grow up today? Popular opinion today says that
excessive use of the internet is damaging to the youth of the world in many ways. One of the most
significant beliefs is that kids today don't exercise enough because they are on the computer all the
time and that this will lead to a host of serious health problems including obesity but also other types
of physical damage to the body such as "harmful impacts on their eyes, backs, and wrists" (Shields
and Behrman). Another significant belief is that children are hurt emotionally because they become
more isolated (Shields and Behrman). This would seem to imply that the future of our world was in
jeopardy. But Even though spending too much time on the computer takes time away from exercise
and social interactions, the popular belief that excessive use of the internet is damaging today 's
youth is not accurate because the internet, including social media, allows youth to keep up with
technology and its vast amounts of information while actually feeling more connected to the world,
not isolated. Furthermore, this connection allows youth to participate more freely in the world
around them giving them more power in the world (Castells).

Animal Testing Persuasive Essay
Throughout history, animal experimentation has played an important role in leading to new
discoveries and human benefits. However, what many people tend to forget are the millions of
animals that are tortured or killed during the process of these painful, deadly experiments. Many
people seem to misunderstand animal nature and the laboratory procedures and techniques that are
executed on the animals. The procedures are cruel, unreliable, and harmful. Luckily there are more
humane alternatives that have also proved to be less expensive.
I assume many of you have pets including cats, dogs, rabbits, and mice. Imagine yourself as your
pet, but instead of living in a warm home with a caring family, you live locked up in a small metal
cage,...show more content...
Some might even consider it abuse. It is something that goes unnoticed every day because of the
benefits that humans gain from it. Animal testing is overshadowed by advancements in the medical
field. However, no product or medicine makes it acceptable.
Just because humans are considered a more powerful species, doesn't give us the right to treat
animals as if they are nothing. Would you want to be treated that way by a more dominant species
just for their benefit? It is clearly unfair. If you pull your cat's tail, it yells because it hurts. Animals
experience pain. They go through the same pain that we would if we were subjected to painful,
deadly experiments. Whether it's a dog, cat, rabbit, mouse, chimpanzee, or human, pain is something
we all feel.
However, when you compare the anatomy of a cat to that of a human, you can find numerous
differences, making animal testing unreliable and sometimes even dangerous. Some might say that
animal testing is crucial to scientific research but how can something be so crucial if the results are
not even completely accurate?
Luckily, there are alternatives for animal testing including computer models, cell structures, and
human testing. Although some may argue that computer models and cell structures are unreliable,
so is animal testing. You are given the choice between two unreliable methods, except in one, you are
not killing an innocent creature. Human testing is also a more just method. If the results are

Persuasive Essay On Funding For Education
"Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world." This quote, said by
Nelson Mandela, states that education can be used to change the world and be used for the
betterment of society, yet education across America it is still not a top priority. Thousands of schools
across America are severely underfunded and have trouble providing the resources to properly
educate the next American generation, a generation that will eventually become the future of the
country. Education spending, however, is at an all–time high compared to past decades, but funding
still mostly comes from state and local resources. Having more funding for education from the
government will help improve schools across the country because it will help students in long–term
ways, help equalize education from state to state, and help student performance.
The first way that increasing government education funds will help American school systems is, that
it will help students later on in life. One study, written by Kirabo Jackson, Rucker Johnson, and
Claudia Persico, showed that tests on low–income districts found that increasing school spending
steadily by 10 percent over a course of twelve years helped lower adult poverty, increase graduation
rates, and cause students to have a 10% increase in adult earnings later in life. This study shows that
increasing education spending does not have to be billions of dollars in order to make a difference
and improve student lives. Increasing spending

Persuasive Research Paper Outline
Week One Overview Everything you write has a purpose. Informal emails, texts, memos, essays,
and research papers are just a few examples. Your objective might be to persuade an audience to
accept new points of view or agree with your ideas. You might want to influence people to support
your stand on an issue. Writing a formal persuasive research paper is one way to induce others to
agree with your argument. In this course, you will have the opportunity to compose an argument
that will convince others to agree with your facts, share your values, accept your argument, and
elect your way of thinking about a topic. The first step is to define your topic, thesis/claim, and
purpose. Planning Your Persuasive Research Paper Next, you will create an Organizational Plan
and research your topic. The end result will be a formal persuasive research paper. The outcomes
and objectives for this course are that upon completion of the course you will be able to produce a
formal persuasive research paper. The activities you complete will help you through the writing
process. You will develop new perspectives on your topic. There are Weekly Objectives you will
complete which are supported by activities and related multimedia. Interacting with the e–learning
environment and using multimedia will enhance your knowledge of the objectives. As a result, you

Persuasive Essay On Self Esteem
Although self–esteem is something everyone has, it can sometimes be difficult to realize your
worth. There are many tools that can raise your awareness of your self–esteem, and journaling is
just one of them. Not only can journaling raise your self–esteem, but it can improve your overall
physical and mental health (ref #5). On the surface, journaling is a relatively simple concept. You
find a bound book you like, maybe something with a nice picture on the front, and either line or
unlined paper on the inside, whichever you prefer. Then get a quality writing pen and start putting
words on paper. While it seems simple enough sometimes people, especially those with low
self–esteem, can turn journaling into a self–deprecating exercise, or they may have trouble moving
the thoughts in their head to the page in their hands. In any event, there are a few simple guidelines
that should be followed to make journaling effective in uncovering your self–esteem. First is to
ensure that your journal remains private. You are the only one that is ever going to read it so do
not be afraid to write as you see fit. No one is grading you on punctuation, spelling, or sentence
structure so do not get caught up in the formality of writing. You can even add pictures or doodles
on your pages if it helps you express your feelings. The other guideline to follow is that you are
not allowed to bash yourself with negative writings. It is acceptable to write about your bad day
or the mistake you made at work, however, do not bash yourself with comments such as "I am so
stupid" or "I am too ugly". If these journal entries show up occasionally, especially at the start of
your writing journey, it is acceptable. Just move on and do not beat yourself up over it, but keep at
it and try to improve over time. Seek to find something good about yourself every day, no matter
how small, because every positive thought counts. If you find yourself struggling to figure out what
to write some days, there are several prompts that can get your thoughts moving in the right
direction. If today was a relatively good day, you might write about why you enjoyed your day or
things you are grateful for in your life. Conversely, if you had a particularly rough day

When done correctly This form of training when done correctly positively affects the respiratory and
circulatory systems of the body. Running, cycling, dancing, HIIT training, among others are potential
forms of endurance exercises to try. It is advised that adults include a minimum of two and a half
hours of moderate intensity endurance training per week. This does not need to be as difficult as it
may appear. One can segment this into sessions as short as ten to fifteen minutes. A moderate
intensity would increase the body temperature, increase the heart rate, and cause one to breathe
faster. Increasing the intensity allows someone to achieve more in a shorter amount of time. Starting
gradually into endurance training is recommended. Begin with no more than twenty to thirty
minutes per workout for moderate intensity, and a condensed amount of time for high intensity.
Strength training, or resistance training, quite literally uses means of resistance against muscles to
increase muscular strength and endurance. With strength training, one can use their body weight,
free weights, weight lifting machines, or resistance bands to achieve their strength exercise training.
Increasing strength training leads to increased balance, posture, and muscle mass. Ideally, one would

mental health in schools. Thesis: Mental health is one of the largest problems students face on a
daily basis, and in order to best help them, we need to implement serious and frequent discussions
about mental health. ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– INTRO: Attention
Getting Device: Every year, about 42.5 million American adults (or 18.2 percent of the total adult
population in the United States) suffers from some mental illness, enduring conditions such as
depression, bipolar disorder or schizophrenia, statistics reveal. (newsweek.com) Purpose/Thesis:
To persuade you all the importance of including mental health awareness in schools. Credibility: I
have dealt with anxiety my entire life. Because I was not aware of what I had for so long and I
did not have any help, I suffered and so did multiple aspects of my academic career. Justification:
"The answer, based on the prevalence of mental illness globally, is stunning: 8 million people die
each year due to mental illness. That is, 8 million deaths could be averted if people with mental
illness were to die at the same rate as the general population." (NIMH) Preview of Main Points:
Today I will show you the dangers of not explicitly discussing mental health in school, what students
will gain from discussing mental health, and inform you what you can do to make this happen.
Transition: First, let us discuss the danger of not including mental health in students' education.
–––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– BODY: Need: According to nami.org,
approximately 1 in 5 youth aged 13–18 (21.4%) experiences a severe mental disorder at some point
during their life. For children aged 8–15, the estimate is 13%. Research has found that about 90% of
individuals who die by suicide experience a mental illness. Social anxiety affects about 15 million
individuals across America, most cases start around the age of 13. They often suffer anxiety,
difficulty focusing and social challenges. Half of them drop out of high school, in part because many
schools don't manage to meet their needs. (pbs.org) Although mental health illnesses affects so many

Thesis Statement On Homeschooling Students
Thesis Statement:Students should not be homeschooled because they do not take standardized tests
and do not have certain support systems that public schools have.
Body Paragraph #1
Topic Sentence: Homeschooling children does not have certain requirements that are necessary in the
public school district.
Supporting Evidence #1: In the article it say, "Public school students are tested and graded to ensure
that they understand the subject matter. For homeschooled students, however, there are no required
subjects and the statute simply speaks in terms of instruction" (Richardson,2013).
Explanation: Homeschooled students should be required to take the subjects just like public schools
do. They need to be tested at all times to make sure they understand what you are teaching them,

So we can know our children are getting the proper curriculum. Homeschooled students should
know the same thing as our public schools children do. Also, we need to know how the child works
and if they have any progress in all the subjects that the teacher teaches. The teachers can not know
how the child is doing, if there are no tests to show it.
Supporting Evidence #2: But there's more; statics also say, "We need the conversation to change,
Coleman said. We're not denying that there are plenty of abusers in public schools, but we have a
system in place to help them. That's something homeschoolers don't have" (Stafford,2015).
Explanation: There is never a time when people go through the hardest times in life. Or want
someone to talk to. Public schools provide help for that. They have counselors for students to talk
to. They have programs for students to express their feelings and help them come out there shell. But
as for homeschooling, they do not have systems for that. Homeschooling does not provide counseling

Persuasive Essay On After School Programs
After school, from 3 to 6 p.m, is a critical period of time in a child's life. After school programs
help keep kids safe and inspire them to learn during that period of time. After school programs are
organized programs that youth can participate in outside of a traditional school day. Enrolling
children in afterschool programs would provide them with benefits that unenrolled children would
not receive, such as reduce risky behavior and promote physical health. After school programs
provide a safe environment for children, while positively impacting their academics, safety, and their
future. Generally, after school programs are ran by schools, faith–based, or community–based
nonprofit organizations. Most programs are held directly after school, but can also be held on
weekends, over breaks or vacations, or on evenings. It is important to define what the purpose of
the program is going to be, whether it be academics, sports, special interests, or cultural activities.
Some other key factors of an after school program are high levels of children involvement, a mix of
academic and non academic skill building activities, and positive relationships between staff and
children. Successful programs have dedicated staff and structured routines for the children. When
after school programs are ran successfully, the children involved will receive positive benefits and
skills they will be able to use to better their future. In communities today, 11.3 million children take

schedule, and anyone can do it. Though no one has heard the cons of taking one. I personally took
three semesters of online classes in high school and had a horrible experience. Because of loose
scheduling, poor communication, and the focus needed, online classes are not suitable for
procrastinators. To give a better understanding, I will summarize my experience with the class. Me,
being a procrastinator, thought to myself: I'll just work on the weekends and if I don't finish the
class by the end of the school year, I can finish within the first few weeks of summer. This was a
god awful plan. Unsurprisingly, close to nothing was accomplished on the weekends. Friends would
ask me to hang out every weekend, and I did every time. Why would I want to work on my class on
the weekend when I could be having fun? I would later regret this decision. On the days I stayed
home and could have worked on the class, I completed nothing. On these days, I would tell myself:
I'll just complete what I didn't do this weekend next weekend. This rarely happened. Thus, the cycle
of getting nothing accomplished started. I disregarded my class for most of the first semester of
junior year. With only nine assignments out of eighty finished after the first semester of the school
year, I was immensely behind. I told myself to get my act together during second semester and grind
out these two semesters

Thesis For A Persuasive Essay

  • 1. Writer's Statement Thesis Statement: Climate change is natural; however, advances of human society such as deforestation, industrialization, and the burning of fossil fuels, have increased the rate at which the climate is changing. My three major sources stood out when writing my research paper on climate change. My main source was Louis Bergeron's, "The World Can be Powered by Alternative Energy, Using Today's Technology, in 20–40 Years, Says Stanford Researcher Mark Z. Jacobson." In this article, Bergeron describes an energy researcher's plan to power the world with renewables within the next few decades. My second source was Marc Lallanilla's, "Greenhouse Gas Emissions: Causes and Sources." In this article, Lallanilla talked about the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Persuasive Essay Thesis "A girl on planet earth has a one in four chance of being born into poverty." (Martin Ravalion and Shaohua Chen) Girls who are born into poverty are less likely to go to school, but they can rise above that and go to school if they had the opportunity. They don't have the opportunity due to many reasons whether the family can't afford it so they send their son, or they are not allowed to be educated. The enrollment gap between boys and girls who are enrolled in school is abound. Many intrepid people including Malala Yousafzai and Suma are working to get girls aneducation and/or out of poverty. If girls had the chance to be educated they would make a big impact on their countries by playing a role in the economy, reduce the amount of girls...show more content... "14 million girls under 18 will be married this year; 38 thousand today; 13 in the last 30 seconds." (UNFPA. Marrying Too Early: End Child Marriage) The amount of girls who are be married is out of this world. They are getting married because they need someone who can support them since they can't read or write to support themselves. "The #1 cause of death for girls 15–19 is childbirth." ( World Health Organization) If they were educated about their bodies this would be different. If they were able to pay for health care to properly birth their child that could possibly save some of them. Not to mention that their bodies can't handle that strain at such a young age. "Girls with 8 years of education are 4 times less likely to be married as children." (Mensch, Barbara S., Susheela Singh and John B. Casterline) If girls are educated there is so much more opportunity for them to have a better life, and not have to stay home and raise a family when they could be at work, or at school. If women got the chance to be educated they would be much less likely to just stay at home, doing home things, and raise a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Persuasive Essay About Self Discipline Everybody at some point in their life has wanted to make a change, hopefully for the better. For most, it can take some serious self discipline to actually put these changes into full force. Here's a proposition: take the time out of the day to sit down and actually think about the outcomes of the problem, and then decide if it's worth going through the motions to make that change. Because everyone on this earth has a given amount of time everyday, no one can use the excuse that they don't have the time of day; that's bullshit. Yes, some may have a busy schedule but you have breaks throughout the day. May it be the required break they get from work, the commute from school to home, or when they're alone with their thoughts at night;...show more content... They should've known that they weren't truly alone, since the individual has been there for them always, but they really must've to think that their best friend wouldn't been with them the one time. The minute the individual found out about their friend's death, they started to crash and burn, tearing themselves apart, blaming themselves, saying that it's their fault that they couldn't save you since they didn't know. Their mental and physical state started to deplete and they've become accustomed to the numbness that has spread throughout their body. They start to eat unhealthily and just stop working out all together. Minor health problems start to invade their system, they get sick more easily than before and just wait until it surpases. It gets to the point where they've been dealing with so much numbing pain that they, themselves, start to contemplate the same thoughts their friend was thinking years back. They have the mindset that, they'll be reunited with their best friend if they were to meet the same fate. Eventually, they will, but they're thinking about meeting that fate sooner rather than later. But they don't want to really do this, they want to get better, but the rut they've created is so coarse and rugged that it'll be difficult to fix those problems. First off, the individual finally decides to go through with Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Persuasive Outline-Organ Donation PERSUASIVE SPEECH OUTLINE – ORGAN DONATION Topic: Organ donation Thesis Statement: Becoming an organ donor after death is not only an important decision for yourself, but it is also an important decision for the life that you may have the power to save. Purpose: To persuade my audience to consider becoming organ donors after death Introduction: 1. Organ donation is a selfless way to give back to others, and to be able to make a huge difference by giving another person a second chance at life. 2. The number of patients waiting for organs far exceeds the number of people who have registered to become organ donors. 3. Many stigmas related to organ donation – relatively false, and in order to be well informed, you must...show more content... Also, how long a patient has been waiting for an organ is a big factor when choosing who will get which organ * Main Point 2– Arguments against organ donation and refutations 1. People of all ages and backgrounds can be organ donors, and if you are under 18, you must get permission from your parent before registering as an organ donor. 2. There are many myths about becoming an organ donor, but here are just a few: 1. If I agree to donate my organs, the hospital won't work as hard to save my life: When you go to hospitals for treatment, doctors focus on saving your life, not someone else's, and the doctor in charge of your care has nothing to do with transplantation. 2. Organ donation is against my religion: Organ donation is consistent with the beliefs of most religions, including Catholicism, Protestantism, Islam, and most branches of Judaism 3. An open–casket funeral isn't an option for organ donors: The donor's body is fully clothed, so no one can see the markings or scars of surgery for organ donation. For bone donors, a rod is inserted where the bone was removed, and for skin donors, the skin donation is taken from the person's back, and since the deceased is clothed and on their back in the casket, the scar is not visible. 4. I'm too old to donate: There is no defined cut off age for donating organs, and there have been many successful organ donations from donors in their 70's and 80's. The decision to use the organs Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. William Kandare Ms. Gallos English 3 May 18, 2015 A Persuasive Thesis Statement on Youth and the Internet Dangers of the Internet, Fact or Fiction? Today's youth are tomorrow's leaders. They are our future. So what kind of leaders are we creating? What affects the way our children grow up today? Popular opinion today says that excessive use of the internet is damaging to the youth of the world in many ways. One of the most significant beliefs is that kids today don't exercise enough because they are on the computer all the time and that this will lead to a host of serious health problems including obesity but also other types of physical damage to the body such as "harmful impacts on their eyes, backs, and wrists" (Shields and Behrman). Another significant belief is that children are hurt emotionally because they become more isolated (Shields and Behrman). This would seem to imply that the future of our world was in jeopardy. But Even though spending too much time on the computer takes time away from exercise and social interactions, the popular belief that excessive use of the internet is damaging today 's youth is not accurate because the internet, including social media, allows youth to keep up with technology and its vast amounts of information while actually feeling more connected to the world, not isolated. Furthermore, this connection allows youth to participate more freely in the world around them giving them more power in the world (Castells). Much study Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Animal Testing Persuasive Essay Throughout history, animal experimentation has played an important role in leading to new discoveries and human benefits. However, what many people tend to forget are the millions of animals that are tortured or killed during the process of these painful, deadly experiments. Many people seem to misunderstand animal nature and the laboratory procedures and techniques that are executed on the animals. The procedures are cruel, unreliable, and harmful. Luckily there are more humane alternatives that have also proved to be less expensive. I assume many of you have pets including cats, dogs, rabbits, and mice. Imagine yourself as your pet, but instead of living in a warm home with a caring family, you live locked up in a small metal cage,...show more content... Some might even consider it abuse. It is something that goes unnoticed every day because of the benefits that humans gain from it. Animal testing is overshadowed by advancements in the medical field. However, no product or medicine makes it acceptable. Just because humans are considered a more powerful species, doesn't give us the right to treat animals as if they are nothing. Would you want to be treated that way by a more dominant species just for their benefit? It is clearly unfair. If you pull your cat's tail, it yells because it hurts. Animals experience pain. They go through the same pain that we would if we were subjected to painful, deadly experiments. Whether it's a dog, cat, rabbit, mouse, chimpanzee, or human, pain is something we all feel. However, when you compare the anatomy of a cat to that of a human, you can find numerous differences, making animal testing unreliable and sometimes even dangerous. Some might say that animal testing is crucial to scientific research but how can something be so crucial if the results are not even completely accurate? Luckily, there are alternatives for animal testing including computer models, cell structures, and human testing. Although some may argue that computer models and cell structures are unreliable, so is animal testing. You are given the choice between two unreliable methods, except in one, you are not killing an innocent creature. Human testing is also a more just method. If the results are Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Persuasive Essay On Funding For Education "Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world." This quote, said by Nelson Mandela, states that education can be used to change the world and be used for the betterment of society, yet education across America it is still not a top priority. Thousands of schools across America are severely underfunded and have trouble providing the resources to properly educate the next American generation, a generation that will eventually become the future of the country. Education spending, however, is at an all–time high compared to past decades, but funding still mostly comes from state and local resources. Having more funding for education from the government will help improve schools across the country because it will help students in long–term ways, help equalize education from state to state, and help student performance. The first way that increasing government education funds will help American school systems is, that it will help students later on in life. One study, written by Kirabo Jackson, Rucker Johnson, and Claudia Persico, showed that tests on low–income districts found that increasing school spending steadily by 10 percent over a course of twelve years helped lower adult poverty, increase graduation rates, and cause students to have a 10% increase in adult earnings later in life. This study shows that increasing education spending does not have to be billions of dollars in order to make a difference and improve student lives. Increasing spending Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 9. Persuasive Essay On Self Esteem Although self–esteem is something everyone has, it can sometimes be difficult to realize your worth. There are many tools that can raise your awareness of your self–esteem, and journaling is just one of them. Not only can journaling raise your self–esteem, but it can improve your overall physical and mental health (ref #5). On the surface, journaling is a relatively simple concept. You find a bound book you like, maybe something with a nice picture on the front, and either line or unlined paper on the inside, whichever you prefer. Then get a quality writing pen and start putting words on paper. While it seems simple enough sometimes people, especially those with low self–esteem, can turn journaling into a self–deprecating exercise, or they may have trouble moving the thoughts in their head to the page in their hands. In any event, there are a few simple guidelines that should be followed to make journaling effective in uncovering your self–esteem. First is to ensure that your journal remains private. You are the only one that is ever going to read it so do not be afraid to write as you see fit. No one is grading you on punctuation, spelling, or sentence structure so do not get caught up in the formality of writing. You can even add pictures or doodles on your pages if it helps you express your feelings. The other guideline to follow is that you are not allowed to bash yourself with negative writings. It is acceptable to write about your bad day or the mistake you made at work, however, do not bash yourself with comments such as "I am so stupid" or "I am too ugly". If these journal entries show up occasionally, especially at the start of your writing journey, it is acceptable. Just move on and do not beat yourself up over it, but keep at it and try to improve over time. Seek to find something good about yourself every day, no matter how small, because every positive thought counts. If you find yourself struggling to figure out what to write some days, there are several prompts that can get your thoughts moving in the right direction. If today was a relatively good day, you might write about why you enjoyed your day or things you are grateful for in your life. Conversely, if you had a particularly rough day Get more content on HelpWriting.net

When done correctly This form of training when done correctly positively affects the respiratory and circulatory systems of the body. Running, cycling, dancing, HIIT training, among others are potential forms of endurance exercises to try. It is advised that adults include a minimum of two and a half hours of moderate intensity endurance training per week. This does not need to be as difficult as it may appear. One can segment this into sessions as short as ten to fifteen minutes. A moderate intensity would increase the body temperature, increase the heart rate, and cause one to breathe faster. Increasing the intensity allows someone to achieve more in a shorter amount of time. Starting gradually into endurance training is recommended. Begin with no more than twenty to thirty minutes per workout for moderate intensity, and a condensed amount of time for high intensity. Strength training, or resistance training, quite literally uses means of resistance against muscles to increase muscular strength and endurance. With strength training, one can use their body weight, free weights, weight lifting machines, or resistance bands to achieve their strength exercise training. Thesis: Mental health is one of the largest problems students face on a daily basis, and in order to best help them, we need to implement serious and frequent discussions about mental health. ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– INTRO: Attention Getting Device: Every year, about 42.5 million American adults (or 18.2 percent of the total adult population in the United States) suffers from some mental illness, enduring conditions such as depression, bipolar disorder or schizophrenia, statistics reveal. (newsweek.com) Purpose/Thesis: To persuade you all the importance of including mental health awareness in schools. Credibility: I have dealt with anxiety my entire life. Because I was not aware of what I had for so long and I did not have any help, I suffered and so did multiple aspects of my academic career. Justification: "The answer, based on the prevalence of mental illness globally, is stunning: 8 million people die each year due to mental illness. That is, 8 million deaths could be averted if people with mental illness were to die at the same rate as the general population." (NIMH) Preview of Main Points: Today I will show you the dangers of not explicitly discussing mental health in school, what students will gain from discussing mental health, and inform you what you can do to make this happen. • 19. Persuasive Essay On After School Programs After school, from 3 to 6 p.m, is a critical period of time in a child's life. After school programs help keep kids safe and inspire them to learn during that period of time. After school programs are organized programs that youth can participate in outside of a traditional school day. Enrolling children in afterschool programs would provide them with benefits that unenrolled children would not receive, such as reduce risky behavior and promote physical health. After school programs provide a safe environment for children, while positively impacting their academics, safety, and their future. Generally, after school programs are ran by schools, faith–based, or community–based nonprofit organizations. Most programs are held directly after school, but can also be held on weekends, over breaks or vacations, or on evenings. It is important to define what the purpose of the program is going to be, whether it be academics, sports, special interests, or cultural activities. Some other key factors of an after school program are high levels of children involvement, a mix of academic and non academic skill building activities, and positive relationships between staff and children. Successful programs have dedicated staff and structured routines for the children. When after school programs are ran successfully, the children involved will receive positive benefits and skills they will be able to use to better their future. In communities today, 11.3 million children take care of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 20. Persuasive Essay On Online Classes Most people think highly of online classes; get to work from home, get to work on a flexible schedule, and anyone can do it. Though no one has heard the cons of taking one. I personally took three semesters of online classes in high school and had a horrible experience. Because of loose scheduling, poor communication, and the focus needed, online classes are not suitable for procrastinators. To give a better understanding, I will summarize my experience with the class. Me, being a procrastinator, thought to myself: I'll just work on the weekends and if I don't finish the class by the end of the school year, I can finish within the first few weeks of summer. This was a god awful plan. Unsurprisingly, close to nothing was accomplished on the weekends. Friends would ask me to hang out every weekend, and I did every time. Why would I want to work on my class on the weekend when I could be having fun? I would later regret this decision. On the days I stayed home and could have worked on the class, I completed nothing. On these days, I would tell myself: I'll just complete what I didn't do this weekend next weekend. This rarely happened. Thus, the cycle of getting nothing accomplished started. I disregarded my class for most of the first semester of junior year. With only nine assignments out of eighty finished after the first semester of the school year, I was immensely behind. I told myself to get my act together during second semester and grind out these two semesters Get more content on HelpWriting.net
