students’ performance and should be replaced with
continuous assessment. I strongly agree with this
statement because examination brings more benefits
to students than continuous assessment…….

INTRODUCTORY

1. Provide interesting opening statements to:
• Introduce the topic
• Provide some background information
• Give some interesting details to arouse interest
in the topic.
2. State your stand clearly (agree/disagree/partial
disagreement) to convey the tone of your
essay.
3. Write a thesis statement to convey the central
idea of the essay. You may preview your ideas
by stating the three main points.
