Every organization should be targeting information and experiences for new staff. The more
specific the type of new staff the better. Out of the box, many experiences support this.
Example 2
The navigation you use should have some ‘getting
started’ links and material for new employees.
Navigation & Quick Links
Pages

Dashboard Cards
Apps
Example 1
You could organize news with a special news
item that shows up first for new employees.

throughout the employee experience it encourages others to
reach out and connect.

Important Stages to Improve
45. The ever-increasing variety, volume and velocity of
collaboration and communication requires working digitally
in a more natural way.
46. The Metaverse can have a long-lasting impact on culture. But it’s
not clear. At this stage we can work to understand and align
current impact.
• Provide a feeling of togetherness when working alone.
• Having “presence” has not always been equitable.
• Not all of us can afford clothing, good lighting or camera systems.
• No legs may be more inclusive (i.e. wheelchair user).
• Figure or ‘body size’ in VR.
• Immersive technology can be costly (flat screen experience matters).
• Audio cues and avatar hand movements to start, but mimicking
facial movements and more matters long term.
47. The Metaverse can have a long-lasting impact on culture. But it’s
not clear. At this stage we can work to understand and align
current impact.
Do we control backgrounds in Teams video?
What is our stance on green screens and filters?
What is our stance on Avatars?
What is our stance on VR at work…
48. The use of Avatars is already a great starting point. Providing a new way of expressing
ourselves based on a moving 3D version of us that follows audio cues, shows hand
movements and soon will mimic facial movements.
Flexibility Matters
We all still have audio-only
calls. Or partial video calls.
Think of this as a way to add
more flexibility with more
expression, personalization
and alternatives.
49. Interacting together in a mesh AR, VR or flat space can enable some participants to use
more capabilities that are more natural. 3D Annotation is especially fluid and it helps us
meet an increased collaboration complexity.
Drop in Spaces:
We have a focus on transactional
interactions when highly remote.
This can mean more natural,
spontaneous interactions.
Don’t forget
about Viva
Engage and
Yammer
Communities!
50. Rich immersive experiences with others in Team spaces powered by the HoloLens are
powerful. This AR focused set of presence and shared experience enables spatial
collaboration in new ways.
51.
52. More frequent and more targeted manager and leader-led pulse
surveys can help highlight the insight needed to target change.

Important Stages to Improve
60. Yammer has great capabilities around questions and answers that scale and integrate
in many ways with SharePoint, Viva Topics, Viva Engage and more.
61.
62.
63.
64.
65. Align work to corporate objectives. Align at all levels of the organization with OKR
approval workflows, Organizational, Team, and Individual goal pages, and Chart View.
66. Align work to corporate objectives. Share progress and insights across your organization
with shareable links to dashboards and with pinned apps and resources in Teams.
67.
68. People In Viva & Viva Goals as well as countless other experiences further enrich the ways
we communicate, align and connect. All elements of a good Intranet strategy.
69.
70. The distribution of collaborative work is often extremely lopsided. In most cases, 20% to 35%
of value-added collaborations come from only 3% to 5% of employees.

Important Stages to Improve
75. While Managers should be more active in developing that doesn’t mean we can’t take
advantage of peer feedback, and learning recommendations.
76. Education and training with VR and AR is changing industries but it’s also helping many immerse
and understand them further. The future of every industry is deeper and more digital.

Tackling Employee Experience Today As We Embrace The Future Workplace

The employee experience journey starts before the employee is hired and lasts after they depart. Focusing on the employee experience can feel like a daunting task when reviewing the many different stages of an employee’s journey, but we know understanding and improving these stages can lead to a much more positive employee experience, and maximize the retention, impact, engagement, and performance of the employee.

Immersive Meetings – Together mode and cameo are work towards this, but immersive meeting isn’t just about 3D work.
Drop In Spaces – Relationship building at work. Transactional interactions when highly remote. More natural, spontaneous. Over 40% of leaders feel relationships are a challenge in remote work.
Great visibility to the communities available in the Yammer network. New module using machine learning to suggest communities.
At least 5 communities, much more likely ot be retained in yammer as an engaged user.
Microsoft acquired Ally.io – a leading OKR company. Ally's solution aligns people's work with team goals and company mission, giving employees more clarity and purpose.
The complete Ally solution will become a new Viva module bringing an end-to-end solution for goal management and OKRs. This new Viva module provides individuals, teams, and departments with a central hub to access and update their goals, check in on progress, and see a shared view of their team's priorities.
Ally will also be integrated into the other Viva modules, bringing OKRs and actions seamlessly into the flow of work. Examples include integrating OKRs and goals into the Viva daily briefing to keep your priorities top of mind as you start your day, integration with connections to help everyone connect their work to the company's purpose and mission, as well as services such as Power BI so leaders can make data-driven decisions.
