1. Ansel Adams
The Tetons and the Snake River 1942
Ansel Adams is a landscape photographer and environmentalist born in 1902. His
photographs are mainly just of nature and landscapes in national parks. His photographs
are taken with a large format camera because there high resolution helps with the
sharpness of the image.
This photograph is taken with a black and white camera and the river acts as a leading
line drawing your attention from one side of the photograph to the other. There is also
the rule of third in the picture as the mountains act as the top of the photograph.
Although the photograph is in black and white there is a good use of natural light as the
sun is behind clouds it only lights up certain parts of the photograph and doesn’t over
expose the whole picture.
