Beverage Program: With over 7,000 bottles in the cellar, The Forge carries one of the largest wine collec-
tions in the country, including rare bottles which are almost impossible to track down. The restaurant also fea-
tures the latest and greatest in wine technology – 10 Enomatic wine machines (totaling 80 wines) that dispense
1, 3 and 5oz pours for guests. The Forge also has a full bar, serving craft cocktails and draft beers.
Design: Owner Shareef Malnik worked with designer Francois Frossard to completely renovate the interior
of The Forge in 2010. Dark woods, stained-glass murals and gilded-framed art were replaced by walls of hand-
carved blonde wood and antique smoked mirror, octopus-like lilac and white crystal chandeliers, and an eclectic
mix of upholstered and metal furniture. The elimination of more than 100 seats created the ambience of a large
private home, where every guest’s seat is “the best in the house.” The open floor plan of the 6,000-square-foot
space allows guests to see and be seen, as well as experience The Forge’s customized environments: The Main
Dining Rooms, The 35-seat Forge Bar with Enomatic Wine System, The Library and The Board Room for
private dining.
Private Dining: Private dining spaces available for parties of 10-350
Parking: Valet available ($10)
Price Points: Entrees range from $30-50
House Policies: Diners Club, MasterCard, Visa, American Express accepted
Reservations: Highly recommended; 305-538-8533 or via OpenTable

Owner, President and CEO
Entrepreneur Shareef Malnik is one of the country’s top restaurateurs, with over 25 years experience in the
hospitality industry. The Forge, Malnik’s celebrated, award-winning steakhouse and wine bar, is iconic at
home in South Florida, as well as all over the world. At The Forge, Malnik has elevated dining to new, luxuri-
ous levels while maintaining impeccable service standards and exhibiting an eye for fine art and chic interior
design. His forays into nightlife have been just as groundbreaking, including partnerships with nocturnal doy-
enne Regine at the widely popular Jimmy’z, as well as The Cuba Club, where Matt Dillon, Michael Jordan,
Madonna and Michael Douglas were all members (and stored their cigars). Other nightclubs spanned Glass
and Café Nostalgia, a Cuban themed live music venue.
By day, Malnik is the Chairman of Nextwave Funding, which provides funding to thousands of small and
mid-sized companies across the nation. Nextwave Funding is dedicated to supporting the future generation
of entrepreneurs. “Building Nextwave is a great opportunity,” says Malnik. “I work with a cross-section of
businesses across the country and feel rewarded when I see our capital help their companies thrive and grow.”
Malnik has also added Executive Producer to his oeuvre with the documentary film Sexology, which was
directed by his fiancée Gabrielle Anwar. They are presently working on a spinoff series of the movie, and a
subscription website associated with Sexology.
However, Malnik might be best known for his charitable endeavors. As a prominent philanthropist, Malnik
has held the prestigious title of Chairman of the InterContinental Make-A-Wish Ball for 10 years, helping to
raise more than $11 million for the organization. Under his leadership, the gala has become the most coveted
event in South Florida with celebrity guests and entertainers spanning Diana Ross, Gabrielle Anwar, Wayne
Newton, Paula Abdul, Macy Gray, Adam Lambert and Sharon Stone. In 2013, Malnik was honored as Board
Person of the Year, and is set to increase his involvement with the charity in 2017 as Chairman of the Board
of Make-A-Wish South Florida.
Fittingly, Malnik has received the Key to the City of Miami Beach six times, and has been awarded “Citizen
of the Year” and been recognized for “Innovations in Business” by the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce.
In 2011, the Miami Marlins honored Malnik with their All-Star Award for Philanthropy, and in 2015, he was
the recipient of the “Credit Suisse Shining Light Award” by the Little Lighthouse Foundation. Additionally,
he has sat on the board of the Police Athletic League for 20 years.
Most impressively, Malnik is able to juggle these elements of hospitality, philanthropy and business with
seemingly relative ease. As a University of Miami School of Business graduate, who also earned a J.D.
degree from the University of Miami’s Law School, Malnik is used to multitasking. He greatly supports his
alma mater, and returned to judge their “Law Without Walls Competition,” as well as sitting on UM’s Medical
School’s Advisory Board of the Psychiatry Department. He is also a regular speaker at Florida International
University’s Chaplin School of Hospitality.
A leading pillar of Miami’s community, Malnik takes this responsibility seriously. However, in his personal
time, he is an extreme skier, Jiu-Jitsu enthusiast, licensed helicopter pilot, former race car driver and offshore
powerboat racer, and “tech” diver, having tested his steel at depths greater than 500 feet. Malnik has compet-
ed in the New York Marathon, the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona Car Race and won the Miami Annual Offshore
Grand Prix.
Malnik resides in Miami Beach with his fiancée, children and assorted pets.
